2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Jokine (47) - Manitoba, CANADA - MAY 14, 2013
Smell was very bad to me. The taste is alright. You get a bit of coffee and chocolate, but not much. If it weren’t for the putrid smell this would probably be alright.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Block (1039) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAY 9, 2013

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 The_Bish (874) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2013
Fizzier than I like in a stout, but pleasantly warming. A bit like friendships. Good ones.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jbruner (1129) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Pours a thick black from the bottle with nice tan head and light lacing. Aroma is corn syrup and malt extract. Taste follows, like a thick pale lager. If I would have seen the commercial description before buying this I never would have.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Niko100 (1490) - New York, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Dark brown/black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of slight toasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, & some chocolate; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, caramel, coffee, fruit, and licorice; Fairly well balanced; A bit too sweet for me - decent overall.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JamesChamp (108) - Oakville, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2013
Not a bad beer but the extra strong alcoholic taste can be a bit strong at the end.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lagerboy (672) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2013
Darkest brown, no hue. Foaming creamy mocha head slowly settles and lasts. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel and dark roasted malt. Very sweet taste, caramel and milk chocolate, roasty malts, some dark fruitiness, no bitterness. Soft carbonation, medium bodied, low hopped. Corn syrup and sugar hide the ABV well. Sweet finish. Nice dessert beer. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 flying_pig (617) - SCOTLAND - APR 18, 2013
284ml bottle (£1.49, Costcutter, London):
Sweet smelling beer with a pleasant dark chocolate and caramel aroma coupled with some darker fruits such as raisin and figs. There was a touch of plum as well and a sort of milky chocolate aroma towards the end along with a slight touch of alcohol coming through.
Dark black colour with a thumb sized and foamy looking white head that holds incredibly well and looks rather thick. There was a nice amount of lacing too.
Milky chocolate base with some light coffee and some stronger caramel together with the same combination of darker fruits found in the nose, notably fig, plum and raisin along with some sugar sweetness from these.
A medium body with a smooth taste and a very sweet, alcohol laced mouthfeel that was slightly creamy on the finish.
Strong and sweet beer with good depth of flavour and a lot going on with it. A good beer to drink and one that despite the hints of alcohol also went down very easily. Probably not quite as good as Lion Stout but certainly a beer I would have again should the opportunity arise.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 viktorvee (109) - Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 17, 2013
Fairly drinkable but not a very complex flavour. Overly sweet, needs more smoke etc...
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 GuillaumeCL (312) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 16, 2013
Bottle from the LCBO. Pours an opaque black with a tiny bit of brown head that dissipates slowly. Smell is a bit roasty and a bit of sweet maltiness, just a bit weak. Palate is light bodied with good carbonation. Taste is quite sweet, just sweet then sweeter then gradually less sweet, no roastiness that I’d expect. Not really a great stout.
