2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tonycaviar (76) - HUNGARY - OCT 29, 2011
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 wanderingman (54) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2006
Probably one of the more complex beers that I have tried, but unforunitely not one of my favourites. Points for a thick head that stuck around till almost the end. A bit too many sweet flavours (cherries and some chocolate) for what I like in a stout. Not really something I would go out of my way to get.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 psark (54) - Binghamton, New York, USA - FEB 15, 2002
Tasty, rich, vinuos and drinkable. Similar to an Old Ale.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 frozen_glass (47) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 13, 2011
Sharp, banana aroma with hints of vanilla; not very pleasant. Very dark color that shines red and clear if held to light. Minimal off-white head. Taste is mostly sweet with hints of sourness. Slick texture for a light-medium body, with a very astringent finish. Absolutely dead in terms of carbonation. Credit for the warm feeling it gives. A dragon would be ashamed to be associated with this beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 DukeofYork (44) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 22, 2003
Thinish, sparkling head, pale brown. Black - totally opaque. Sweet, toffee and liquorice in the nose, even chilled I get alcohol burn. Thick, sweet, alcohol and roast in the rear. Oily. Not nearly as nice as Caribbean Guinness FES.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Laf-o (41) - Toronto, Ontario, POLAND - NOV 17, 2001
Great aroma, and nearly as great taste. Good once in a while but i cant see myself drinking too many in one day. Gives you a pleasant warmth in your stomach.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BrainDead (30) - Derby, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2005
Bottle. This is a bit of fun. Not a beer to take seriously. It’s a sort of comic beer. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. It’s not great, it’s not clever, but - apart from raging toothache from the sugar rot, this is an enjoyable ten minutes.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 speedywinger (28) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 17, 2008
Deep red color with dark darkish beige head. Aroma is sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, sweet, sweet and some sugar with a maple syrup finish. Minor complexities, but far too sweet for my liking. Sweet is good if there are hops to balance everything out... unfortunately i found none in this beer. Disappointing for a stout.

Been a long time...thank god. Sweet like honey roasted almonds. Way too sweet for me, not too far off of Mackeson’s, only much thinner and less flavorful.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Appreciator (26) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JAN 30, 2012
Classic stout being black with no light passing through. Aroma is inviting, low intensity, with a sweet toasted malt hint. No head at all, but quite carbonated. Low intensity other than being sweet. Medium bodied, with a short aftertaste. Thin, round texture. hint of bitter taste with a roasted malt, chocolate and a heavy sweetness masking the 7.5% ABV.
Appreciated
