bipolar1 (267), Hancock, Michigan, USA Sep 29, 2001 Updated: Apr 1, 2005I drank mine straight from the bottle. The owner of a local party store gave me a 5 pack (1 missing) which was found under a shelf in the walk-in cooler, and we estimated it had been "cellared" for at least 2 years. There was a good 1/8" of dust on the bottles. The texture is a perfect blend of oiliness and carbonation. The aroma and flavor was extremely rich and satisfying, nothing overpowering, and surely not lacking. Has an effect of melted butter with pancake syrup and fresh brewed fluffy cappucino, minus some of the sweetness, but with plenty of refreshing qualities and alcohol kick. This beer is awesome!! ReverendJames (3), Canada does not count Nov 29, 2004 Great body; nice, rich, dark tone; hints of coffee and choclate.
I wish I could find some locally. Highly addictive afternoon sipper! mikenodak (142), Fargo, North Dakota, USA Oct 2, 2001 A great sweet/malty stout full of licorice, coffee, chocolate flavors. If you like Mackeson, you’ll love this. When in Jamaica, skip the Red Stripe and search this out. austinpowers (2827), New York, New York, USA May 13, 2002 I love this stout. It’s mild, with a hint of sweetness. Not as sweet as a Royal Extra Stout. More like a sweet Mackeson XXX. LuckeyHaskins99 (180), Toledo, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2002 A great sugared malty stout from the land of the sugar cane. (Okay actually it’s the land of ganja, but this isn’t a ’rateweed.com’) The saddest thing about Dragon Stout is that is has become a rarity in Jamaica. Most bars only sell Guiness and it was hard for me to find this stuff on my last trip there. Regardless, this is a sweet ’chocostout’ that lovers of Mackeson’s will enjoy. If you don’t like dark beer however, this one will not change your opinion at all. (Note I have an 18 inch neck, tho my name isn’t Gunter)
