jredmond (585), New Jersey, USA May 3, 2008 11 oz bottle. Very unique beer, but I personally wouldnt be able to finish one of these. The aroma is alcohol - smells and looks like a Rum & Coke. The taste is ultra-sweet. Ive never tasted a stout as sweet as this one.
Bungalo22 (222), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Jul 19, 2008 It pours a nice dark brown but there was very little head. This is a light stout . It was smooth but there wasn’t much texture on the palate. It smelled a bit nutty and a slight bit of chocolate. I’m not sure how much more I can say about this one. Black and fizzy. Fizzy in the mouth too. Very sweet taste, and also quite watery in places, but packed with fruity raisins and chocolate, and with a hint of hazelnut. Very easily drinkable, covers 7.5% very well. CQC (201), Sydney, Australia Jul 13, 2008 Sweet, pungent actually. Has a Belgian tinge to it... 284ml, it’s enough. Not a drinking, drinking stout more of a desert stout.
Nice -bu nothing like like coopers, let alone Vintage stout. Still good though. Have had a few & no nasties. glennmastrange (370), hobe sound, Florida, USA Jul 11, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of dark bread, burnt, molasses and dark chocolate, light hops and yeast notes of resin and earth, with cola, paper and alcohol in the background. Head is fizzy, light brown with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic and finishes the same with a little bitterness. Palate is medium, lightly syrupy and has a lively carbonation. It was okay, but the way it flattened out almost immediately wasn’t a big hit for me. smith4498 (265), Miami, Florida, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pours dark brown/black with light brown head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts. Very sweet flavor with corn syrup, roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee, chocolate. Medium/full body with minimal carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. I used to drink this about 15 years ago and got excited when I saw it. However, it is not as good as I remember it to be.
