3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Merci Glenn ! Bouteille 284 ml. 7.5%.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nose is muted, sugar, lactose, malt. Taste is typical West Indian Stout; very sweet, brown sugar, milk, cola, coco. Mouthfeel a touch thin. It’s a nice example of the region’s drinks, but I will always find them too sweet.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from a random London off-license. Seen this so many times on the shelves of London corner shops and ignored it looking for more interesting beers. Today for reasons I still don’t know my curiosity got the better of me. And it’s not actually that bad. Sweet malt aroma, taste is dark treacle, chocolate, dark fruits and a milkiness lurking behind the shadows. Perfectly fine and drinkable but won’t win any prizes.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle shared at ChrisO. Dark brown color, small to average sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, sweeter than I expected, slightly a touch of liquorice. Average to medium body and carbonation. Meh, don’t really like it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle found in London. Smooth intense beginning. Quite viscous, intense caramelly. The mainpart is malty, bitter-sweet, smooth, nice. The aftertaste is long, malty-smooth, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, very intense and thick. Not too bitter. Nice!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Classic foreign stout with a dragon on the label. Dark beige foam with reddish hue, thick and lacing, relatively stable; colour a very dark ruby red, near to black, clear. Aroma of cassis, figues, walnuts, whisky, brown sugar, peat, pear syrup, coffee grounds. Taste begins with a restricted sweetness, medium carbonation, turning deeply malty (chocolate, nuts) with dried and candied fruits, light sourishness, ending in a light but sufficiently powerful roasted coffee bitter, though the caramelly, mellow sweetness keeps dominating the whole flavour trail. Interesting and well-balanced, I could have this any day.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Whole Foods. Hazy blackish pour with 1-finger tan head that laces well. Nose is charred black malts, hops, some smoke. Not a great smell. Tastes roasty black malty, with notes of cacao, brown sugar, caramel, and a milk stouty, creamy finish with backup hops. This one tastes a lot better than it smells.
