1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle, thanks to holdenn for this sample. i have no idea how fresh this is, but there is no real hop presence in this beer. it tastes more like a scotch ale too me. aroma has a sugary slight hoppy thing going. not much of an aroma. flavor is very malty with a poor aftertaste. hardly any bitterness. perhaps this is an old bottle but what i’m drinking is a joke of an ipa.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy orange brown with a medium slowly dissipating tan frothy crown that leaves some lacing. Aroma of grains, citrus, floral hops and mild lake water. Taste of floral hops, mild sweet malt, caramel. A sudsy mouth feel with a moderate back end bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malt, crystal malt, and a slight hint of citrus. Flavor of caramel malt, sweet malt, some sweaty hops but mostly this was dominated by the caramel malt. Much too sweet for an IPA and not to my liking.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle, shared & poured to snifters showing a cloudy, orangey amber color, with a light layer of bubbly, off white foam that reduced quickly to a film, leaving light spots of lacing on the glass. The nose was ripened fruit & earthiness, with some vegetal hints, and a light freezer burn scent. The taste added a bit of soy, less the saltiness, maybe more as a touch of molasses. Light bodied, softly carbonated, with earthy & resiny bitterness. An IPA? Glad that my sampling wasn’t a full glass!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured a hazy dark orange color. The head was thick, creamy, and off white with a tan tint. Some lace was left behind on the glass. Attractive aroma of mango, pineapple, and caramel. Medium bodied and sweet with caramel, subdued pine, and some mango/orange. Smooth mouth feel with carbonation on the lower end of the spectrum and minimal bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I had this on tap into a tulip at Ashleys...The beer pours a light hazy orange, not a ton to look at here...The aroma and taste are both ok, nothing special either, ligth pineapple on the nose, a mild hop presence. The feel is ok, and its ok to drink but with the lack of hops, it really doesn’t justify drinking more than one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Bailey’s. Pours an orange-amber color with a small head that fades quickly. Aroma of stale hops and straw, some pale malt too. Taste is a bit bland, lots of grassy and straw-like hops. Tastes more like a pale ale, or an English IPA I guess. Overall ok.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
pours a clear copper with a nice fluffy offwhite head. aroma of moldy bread, hay rotten wood, stale pale malts. light mouthfeel. maybe i got a bad bottle, not sure how long it was sitting at peter’s gourmet something or other. This beer was a little more palatable as it warmed, but still wasn’t good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from The Beer Depot in Ann Arbor, MI. Pours a clear, amber-copper-orange colored body with an inch thick, dense and foamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweeter caramel with a good amount of grapefruit hops. Florals and some piney resins, earth, and a touch of toast. Flavor is similar, but feels a bit unbalanced. Sweeter caramel with a light toast and a good amount of floral grapefruits. A few resins and pines towards the end as this finishes mostly dry and sweet with a moderate, earthy bitterness that gives off a bit of a spiciness. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a fairly lively, moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA. A bit sweet with lots of grapefruit hops. Nothing exceptional, but not bad.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz Bottle. A quieted hop sugar aroma, glowering with lemons and spice marinade. Nice and nuanced. Piney. A decent aroma. Pours this side of ruddied amber, with a silken draping of birch. Flavor is surprisingly boring. There’s a cracker-like malt sweetness, running amongst a nip of honey and sherry. Heat. Hops run away in fright. Where did the hops and bitterness go? This has a humulus profile of a APA or an aged Barleywine. Fresh tasting at least. Earthy. Thin and soapy. Meh.
