thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 21, 2008 First off let me say that I am disapointed by Dragonmeads brews at the present. I have gotten the impression that with the prices of their ingredients going sky high, they have cut back on the quantity of their ingredients in their brews. The end result is much weaker than usual brews. The aromas and flavors all appeared weak IMHO. With that said, on to the rating. This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated brown colored body. The almost non-existant aroma was brown malt and nutty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of nutty and brown malt. Not one that I would likely buy again.
Silphium (1979), Lansing, Michigan, USA Aug 19, 2007 On tap at Dragonmead. Clearish red-brown body, medium tight cream head. Thin, toasty body with light sweetness, balanced by leafy, herbal, bitter hops. Somewhat lifeless and by-the-numbers. badnewsbeers (961), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Aug 14, 2007 on tap at the brewery...light amber pour with medium head..aroma of indistinct malts and hops (mostly earthy)...a tad dry, a tad bitter...blah SuIIy (1107), W Newton, Massachusetts, USA Mar 1, 2005 Decent beer. Drank it before the incubus show in a large jug. Has a light red color to it, with minimal head steve23mj (273), Essexville, Michigan, USA Jan 21, 2005 Pours dark copper brown with light tan head. Nose is somewhat malty with a streak of nuttyness. Slight flowery notes. Flavor is lightly chocolaty with unique roastyness. Not sure what Hemp seeds taste like, but this definitely has a virginlike flavor. Mild dry finish.
