COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic dry stout is moderately bittered with E. Kent Golding hops and is balanced between Roasted Barley and Chocolate Malts. It is fermented with Irish Ale Yeast that leaves the finish of the beer dry, thick and delicious. O.G. 1.066

Courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Stale caramel, chocolate and vanilla with a light plastic twang. Deep black with a wispy mocha head. Sweet chocolate malt, buttermilk, clay and sweet cream int he flavor. Weird.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a brownish-black color with a medium light beige head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. Medium body with a roasty character and notes of earth, chocolate and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Sample at Dragonmead on 7/23/11. Black pour with a very minimal head. Roasty nose with some apple notes, but overall very muted, even when warmed. Roasty malt and apple flavor with a bitter roasty finish.

Draft… RBSG 2010… Pours clear and black (crimson is revealed when held up to light) with a small, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The nose is a meshing of coffee and chocolate with a whisper of vanilla. Full-bodied and silky with soothing carbonation. Sweet dark chocolate/chocolate crème flavor with a splash of espresso. Finishes sweet and roasty.

Not much head, and a bit watery for a stout. Better than the Arbor Brewing Companies Java Love though.

Not very bitter; almost watery. The beer’s not awful (I’d recommend it for weeny assholes looking to show off drinking stout), but it’s definitely not great. Smooth, some head. The fact that this beer was one of the worst I had at Dragonmead but still better than many beers I’ve had at other microbreweries is saying something, though.

On tap at Dragonmead 3-13-09. Poured brown. Smelled roasty and malty. Tasted of minerals, roasted malt, vegatal. Some bitterness.

On tap at the Dragonmead Brew Pub. Interesting name! Poured a medium brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate and earthiness. Tastes of chocolate, earthy, and lighter coffee in the finish.

Growler brought down to FL by my sister. Pours deep dark blackness with nice mocha head. Nice looking brew. The growler gave it a whiff of oxidation to start off the nose with. The bulk of it is toffee, burnt malts, dark roastiness, some vague dark fruitiness somewhere in the background and a hint of coco. The taste is much the same with roastiness, sweet toffee, burnt malts approaching ashy to go along with an underscore of faint oxidation. The mix of roasty malts, toffee and seemingly some oatmeal twang creates on interesting note that closes in on mild sourness. Enjoyable product with delicious creamy mouthfeel.

Growler courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours black with a one finger mostly lasting tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and a hint of ash. Taste is the same as aroma with the ash being more prominent. Medium creamy mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Very good.
