COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma.

Draft with a meal. Ripe, sweet, dark fruit. Thick and heavy palate. Good beer to drink with food.

The Lost Notebook Files Beer #24. I did it. I cleared my entire backlog. Feels damn fine. Need to drink some beer. Pours pale amber with average head. Booze and caramel on the nose. Lively mouthfeel. Sweet yet not overpowering flavor. Bottle - Sicilianoís Specialty Market - Grand Rapids, MI

Very sweet and earthy. The Belgian yeast flavour is very defined. A strong smoky flavour, however surprisingly smooth to drink for the abv. Very poor head retention however, which is perhaps the only let down for this beer and is surprising due to the high carbonation. The strong yeast flavour combines perfectly with the sweetness of the citrus. One of my favourites. Best enjoyed from a snifter.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2014 Tap @ Dragonmead: Hazy golden-amber with a volatile, white head. Sweet, earthy and fruity ester filled aroma with lots of Belgian yeast; spicy clove, banana, bubblegum, bread. Taste is more of the same with heavy spiciness from the yeast. Hops are light but floral and almost perfume-like. Heavy, heavy Belgian yeast all around. Bubblegum and clove, all day. Soft body with heavy carbonation, almost effervescent.

On tap at Billís Beer Garden. Pours a near clear burnt orange with an egg shell white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a good amount of burnt candied sugar with some light fruits and a bit of earthy sweet grains. Flavor has a combination of light fruit, banana and candied sugar with a backbone of earthy sweet grains.

From fishmich in a trade-thanks, Bill! Big banana and clove nose. Clear gold, but a lot of sediment. Smooth, solid trippel. Good with some sushi on a Friday night.

First bottle of Dragonmead I had the privilege to have. Pours a beautiful cloudy amber nice aroma , caramel, barnyard, banana. Left to warm a bit (as it should be) a greatly complex palate. Honey, barnyard, herbs, and banana. A awesome beer I will be enjoying a lot of this summer.

This is my number one favorite beer on earth. Canít even tell that it has a high abv. Perfect for summertime.

Served on-tap at Green Dot Stables in Detroit, Michigan. Appearance: It looks like apple juice, to be honest. It looks REALLY poor... I got it with no head, and there was no lacing. Despite this, I still got a nice bit of carbonation while drinking it. Smell: Like a faint grape juice... thatís about it. Not bad but also not great, either. Taste: Like the smell... but the taste of the smell is much better than the smell itself. Know what I mean? Itís just a pretty heavy beer. Almost a syrupy texture with carbonation, and a smash to the face of really grape like flavors. Very fruity, but super enjoyable and WAY too drinkable. Mouthfeel: As I said, nice carbonation. It drinks like a wine cooler, sad to say... itís just a great experience. Overall, this is a fantastic beer. A very fruity beer, but still a great one that Iíd gladly have again. Though its looks are very unremarkable, what matters the most is the taste, and this tastes VERY good, in my opinion. Just beware of the ABV ... I didnít realize it was so high. Oops.

Pours clouudy with a very fine, thin head. Aroma is an interesting blend of heady fruits and caramel. The malts blend nicely, and bring a nice balance to the beer, but the gravity may be just a bit too high and can be overbearing. All in all, this is an excellent attempt at a classic Belgian Trippel with American style from a local brewer. - Bottled
