COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A porter with a difference. Dark in color but light in taste. 25 pounds if honey and dark chocolate wheat malt are used to give this beer a refreshingly smooth taste. Give this beer a try even if you don't like dark beers.

On tap at Dragonmead. Poured a dark brown with a tan head. Chocolate, roast, and honey. Honey was present but not overpowering as the name would imply.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and a touch of honey. Light body with flavors of sweet malt, honey and a tinge of mineral water. The finish is sweet and roasty with a short malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Draft. A nice porter with a little extra sweetness from the honey. Smooth, chocolate presence is there. I had just a sample but will try more on another visit.

nitro... can’t believe there is so much honey in this, I get a bit of the chocolate but this is so dull, the base must be terrible

On nitro tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of chalky malt (it did not have a strong aroma). Flavor of bitter chocolate, light honey sweetness, and sweet roasted malt. A decent porter that is on the sweet side. 6/4/6/3/11 [3.0/5]

Sample at the brewpub. Black pour with a thick tan nitro head. Roasty and slightly metallic nose. Flavor of roasted malt, honey and banana that shouldn’t be there.

On tap. Poured black with a thick yellowish brown head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of light chocolate notes that clashed a bit with a honey night. Flavor began sweet from the honey but transfered to more of a milk chocolate finish.

Aroma is sugary sweet with roasted malt and caramel notes. Black hue with a good looking tan head. Flavor has notes of roasted coffee, chocolate but also an off metal taste. Medium to full bodied and soft. A bit of a cloying feel. Almost there but what happens near the finish kills it.

On tap @ the brew pub: Pours black with a tan coffee colored head. Aroma, chocolate, roasted notes, it was on nitro and you could tell. Flavor, honey, chocolate, some milky notes, sweet and nitro smooth.
