3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark orangish-amber with medium off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma strong of toasted malt, caramel, great hops backbone, pine, and grass. Flavor matches well and comes together very nicely on my palate, but not quite as bitter as I was expecting. Nice bitter aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, fruit and malt. Medium to full body with a citrusy hops character and notes of caramel malt and herbs. The finish is malty up front with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Dark red color, a little cloudy, thin head. Aroma was moderate - some hops, but not strong. Overall smooth and warming, full body. Good but not as much as I was expecting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the GTMW 2011. Reddish amber with a large tan crown. Aroma seems more malty than hoppy with caramel, citrus and mild floral hops. Taste is balanced and drinkable with caramel, citrus and fruit and it didnít finish all that bitter.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured up on tap at the Dragonmead brewpub with deep clear copper body and off white head. The aroma puts off citrus hops, some hop resin as well as roasted malts and dark fruity ester notes. The taste is bold and rich with roasted malts, pine and citrus hop bitterness, mineral notes and a sense of yeastiness. It stays that way into the finish remaining hop forward with firm supporting notes of roasted malts.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Festival 2010. Clear dark reddish-orange w/ short beige head. Decent lacing. Aroma of citrus fruit and deep woods, but as an earlier rater said, doesnít smell as "clean" as I would have liked. Decent, satisfying malty flavor with considerable bitterness. Medium body, foamy mouthfeel. Not perfect, but I would try again.

Not much nose or head, But a hearty red ale taste and a dark ruby color. Very enjoyable. One of the better reds I have ever enjoyed.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sample at the brewpub. Clear red pour with a medium off-white head. Aroma is of different hops that are working against each other instead of in harmony; just smells messy. Flavor is the same messiness with some soapy taste.
