COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This German style wheat beer contains about 50% malted wheat and is balanced with Hallertau hops. This beer finishes low in gravity so the final taste is light on the palette and extremely drinkable. This is sure to be a favorite with first time and long time wheat beer drinkers. O.G. 1.048.

On tap at Dragonmead Brewery. The head was white with fine sized bubbles. Softly carbonated body, semi-transparent with a pale yellow hue. The aroma was sweet, banana and clove. The flavor was mostly banana with a smooth mouthfeel. The texture was somewhat thin and watery. This was a light-medium bodied beer with very sparse lacing. Definitely not the best German Hefe that I have rated. There are better ones out there.

draft at the pub... a forgettable wheat beer, not bad but boring not worth having

Sample at Dragonmead on 7/23/11. Hazy yellow pour with a medium white head. Aroma of banana, but there are some botanical notes mixed in, so we’ll call it green bananas along with wheat malt. Flavor of banana, chloropyll and a bit of pepperiness on the back end.

Golden yellow pour. This is all banana, clove, and grassy hops. Crisp and refreshing.

On tap at Dragonmead 3-13-09. Poured hazy yellow. Smelled of wheat, banana, and clove. Tasted of wheat, grainy, banana, citrius, mild spices, and butter. Pretty thick body.

hopdog (7043) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 3, 2009
On tap at the Dragonmead Brew Pub. Poured a medium and cloudy yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves and some wheat. Tastes of bananas, cloves, wheat, and citrus. The profile for a Hefe was there if not on the thinner and semi-thin side.

SpudClampDawg (1029) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUL 2, 2008
Draft at the Stein Haus in Bay City: Sunny yellow pour with a frothy cap that settles into dollops of foam in the middle of the glass. From here, the beer really falls into an average category for the style. It displays a nice wheaty body that is leveled by some honey flavored malt. The yeast does a decent job throwing some banana and clove, but moderate at best. It drinks easy and is refreshing, but lacks that certain complexity that takes an average hefe to the top. A solid made beer that will please the masses.

I love a good hefe with all of those distinct aromas and flavors. This one fell just a bit short because it was too one dimensional. Cloves dominated both aroma and flavor. Ok, some lemon was present but clove reigned supreme here. Still, it was a pleasant beer.

Cloudy pale body with small, white head. The aroma is slightly sweet, bananas, apricot and bread. The flavor is fairly sweet, dough, banana and cotton candy. Medium/light body with moderate carbonation and a pithy finish.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of bananas and bubble gum. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and soft carbonation.

A nice hefe, with the typical banana and clove, and to me a little more wheatiness, and perhaps even malt than I usually pick up. Very smooth mouthfeel, but not too light. I got a little bit of sourness in the finish, and I rather enjoyed that.
