3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 UnsofistaCat (224) - Garden City, USA - DEC 11, 2005
Draft at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor, Mi. A boring sweet stout. Didn’t look very impressive. Some roasted notes and a watery finish. I need to start taking more notes when I go to the bar. This review is pathetic.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dogbrick (4837) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. Pours flat black with a medium creamy beige head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Light to medium body with a roasty character and flavors of malt, coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is sweet with a toasted malt aftertaste, Decent overall.

draft... another really disappointing porter by DM, the oats helped a bit as there was a nice sweet note but besides that no flavor

Poured up via nitro tap at the Dragonmead brewpub with deep mahogany body and firm tan head. The aroma offers up mild forays of dark roasted malts, burnt malts and almost to charred maltiness. The taste is smooth and ushers in dark roasted malts to burnt malts as well as a mild minerally earthiness that seems a touch out of place.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hopdog (7043) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2010
On at at the Dragonmead Brewery. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized head. Aromas and tastes of oats, chocolate, some roastiness, and lighter coffee.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopscotch (7532) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 10, 2010
Nitro… RBSG 2010… Pours clear and very dark with flashes of crimson when held up to light. The head is large, creamy and light taupe in color with everlasting retention. Sweet, roasty aroma. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor, like the nose, is toasted and sweet with a nice mocha component. A touch of bitterness carries over into and through the mid-length finish.

ruddy body. aroma of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and coffee. flavor is of chocolate, coffee, bitterness. despite the largely bitter finish, this is still slightly sweet

On nitro tap at the brewery. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of smoky malt, roasted malt, and burnt notes. Flavor of solid, robust roasted malt and some smoky undertones. Pretty tasty and one of the better Dragonmead beers of the night.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JaBier (3236) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - FEB 7, 2010
Sample at the brewpub. Pitch black pour with a thick tan nitro head. Roasty and creamy aroma with some coffee notes. Roasty flavor that is somewhat creamy, but much drier than expected with a nice coffee finish. The best they had to offer on this day, save maybe Ring of Fire.
