3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 MereLikesBeer (195) - Royal Oak, USA - JUL 25, 2009
I had this on tap (via pitcher) at MBGSF 09. This was some different stuff. It poured a nice golden color with a creamy off-white head. The aroma was at first sort of light, but then went into a very peppery smell. It had a very hoppy and VERY peppery flavor to it. Hot peppers were literally in my mouth, I was eating them, and they were burning...like for two more beers...It was a very intense flavor. It’s something I will have to try again with a meal.

draft... really impressed with this beer despite being able to only drink a few ounces, its hot but not so hot you can’t drink it, the flavor of a jalapeno dominate more than anything but its comes across really crisp and fresh... must try if you like peppers or spicy beers

Draft at dragonmead. Ring of fire. Cloudy orange with small white head. Aroma of sweet pepper and hot pepper. Kind of like a salsa drenched nachos. Flavor is very similar. Mostly red pepper with spices all around. quite good and an easy drinker. 747314

Tap at Dragonmead. Pale golden pour with a touch of haze. The nose has a kiss of light peppery spice. Fairly sweet pale malt on the back. Not as much spice on the flavour as is suggested in the nose. It’s okay, but kind of a one-trick pony.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 zdk (1625) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Tap @ Dragonmead - hazy yellow pour, thin white head. Arouma is chillies, light caramel and sweet. Light piney hops, lots of chilli heat. Spicey, habenaro and spicey... but the heat is not well integrated into the body of the beer. Good execution in general on a difficult style. They don’t do much else this well.

Lots of heat... good specialty beer. I didn’t expect the heat ... typically these have more aroma, but the taste doesn’t follow-- this one differs. Nice job to carry the flavors through.

The Aroma was of Jalapeño, and it seemed to get better every time I went back to this beer. Not surprisingly, it went well nachos and cheese. The beer itself wasn’t very strong, but the subtle pepper after taste was enjoyable. I would have preferred for it to be spicier, but I’m a pepper-head who loves the feeling his face being burnt off.

This beer tastes like peppers. Not in a "I’m upchucking peppers from lunch" kind of way, but in a pleasant aftertaste. Very smooth, smells amazingly like peppers, then followed with the subtle tinge of pepper in the aftertaste. Interesting beer; good with nachos, not surprisingly.

Clear amber body with a small off-white head. The nose is sweet caramel, pepper and raisins. Light to moderate sweetness, with spicy, hot pepper, caramel and golden raisins. Medium body is soft with light carbonation. Finishes with a lasting, coating heat.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JaBier (3236) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - FEB 7, 2010
Sample at the brewpub. Hazy gold pour with a medium white head. Malty aroma with crisp hops and hot peppers. Those hot peppers hit your tongue first, followed by crisp hop and some malt on the back end. Pretty good, and much better than expected.
