crizay (1056), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Feb 26, 2008 Thanks Mike. Brown pour, medium beige head. Aroma is smoke and caramel. Flavor is smoke, roasted barley and caramel. Mainly smokey with some subtle sweetness and floral hops. Medium bodied and good carbonation but the body could be a little bigger at this abv. There is a sour twang behind it all that is making me believe I got a bad bottle, ecspecially when another one exploded.
kieleszd (31), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA May 8, 2008 This beer has a little malt character to begin, followed by, well a taste of scotch. Only a Scott could come up with this one, its unique, but that is not an option on rating. A real beer for the scotch drinker, but not for me. Beer_Hawk (614), Murfreesboro (CBS, Kosovo), Tennessee, USA May 4, 2008 Bottle. Poured brown with a frothy off-white head that leaves thick lacing. Roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor also with some chocolate and caramel. Sweet throughout. Medium body. (Rating from June ’07) jeffwilliams11 (153), hooterville, Michigan, USA Apr 5, 2008 nothing overly special, just kinda tastes like a scotch ale. a little thin in body, too much carbonation for the style. Ibrew2or3 (1443), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Apr 3, 2008 Tampa Tuesday tasting night – blind tasting, pours dark dark brown with thin light brown head. The aroma is light and odd with nearly burnt butter, nuttiness and not much else. The taste is way better than the aroma with a nice body bringing forth rich roasty malts, caramelized malts, a smooth earthiness and faint burnt butter. fishingnet (557), Brandon, Florida, USA Mar 26, 2008 Bottle Tampa Scotch Ale Blind Tasting. Pours a deep amber with a small light tan head. Aroma of light caramel and light fruit. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Good.
