Bottle. Poured brown with a frothy off-white head that leaves thick lacing. Roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor also with some chocolate and caramel. Sweet throughout. Medium body. (Rating from June ’07)

Jul 5, 2008 Dark red beer - faintly sticky lace - sweet caramel aroma, some plum and bubblegum - a tiny bit of peat - tastes peaty and lightly bitter - a bit of dough and chocolate - a touch of cherry - blah.

Jul 5, 2008 Bottle shared by notalush. Dark brown beer. Aroma is weird, some earthy/musty notes on the nose. Lightly leathery and a bit sour. Some light herbal/spiciness under a dull muted maltiness. Meh... this is not for me.

May 19, 2008 Aroma of roasted malt caramel and sour dark fruits. Dark brownish black hue with a tan head that left good lace. Flavor is more of the same but also has an off metal flavor. Medium bodied. Not bad but kind of off.

May 13, 2008 Black brown pour with no head. Malty aroma with a faint note of peat. Flavor is is slight peat smoke, molasses, caramel, unsweetened cocoa, and licorice. Oily medium body.

May 8, 2008 This beer has a little malt character to begin, followed by, well a taste of scotch. Only a Scott could come up with this one, its unique, but that is not an option on rating. A real beer for the scotch drinker, but not for me.
