COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a true West Coast IPA–it is pale in color, with with bracing bitterness, high alcohol content (about 7.3% abv) and a fruity/floral/citrus hop aroma. It is made from a simple malt bill: North American base and pale caramel malt. We use copious amounts of Northwest hops all throughout the boil, with most of it going in within the last 15 minutes. After fermentation is complete, we dry hop it with approximately 1 boatload of each of the same hop varieties. 16.5°

A fairly aggressive IPA, the bitterness coming through clearly, magnified by the highly attenuated mouthfeel. It all just felt a little much and didn’t give the hop flavor a chance to really break through.

Location: Draft at O.H.S.O., 3/8/14

Aroma: It has a nice resiny/pine aroma, with some nice citrus, and some spice notes
Appearance: This one pours a clear golden color with a nice white head on it
Flavor: The taste is much the same, with a big hoppy bitterness, and a clean hop finish
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a clean feel, and a nice, dry finish
Overall Impression: This was another really tasty beer from Dragoon. It wasn’t quite as good as their Red IPA, but it was a heck of a beer. Excluding the much ballyhooed Wilderness (which totally lived up to the hype), I think Dragoon may have been the Arizona brewery that impressed me to the most on my trip.

Definitely up there for best IPA’s in Arizona. Fresh, dank, piney aroma. Perfect balance of bittering hops, clean finish, Always a go to when I see it on tap.

Draft - Pine and skunk. Clear gold with a thick white head. Piney and skunky with a nice balance of bitterness. Reminds me of Green Flash, which is a good thing.
