An American Pale Ale. For batch number 1500, Josh & Brian decided to brew a big hoppy beer, yet make it quaffable by keeping the alcohol level down. Turns out everyone liked it so much, that it is now brewed year-round. Loads of Simcoe and Amarillo hops are blended in the fermenter, just after fermentation has finished, to impart a huge aroma of pine and citrus.

Bottle:   This is one of those grainy wet and musty hopped up Pales that aren’t very bright, sweet, or hoppy.   Seems a bit dank and dull.   Overall a very stale Pale Ale.   Meh... snoozer.

On tap at Blueprint Tap Room in SF, February 2014. (my first one from this brewery) A bit hazy dark golden with a medium head. Quite hoppy and fresh with grapefruit, grass and light malt. The finish was dry and fairly bitter. Easy to drink.

Classic West Coast pale, yet, with way more oomph than normal. I absolutely love this pale and would drink it non-stop if I could get it all the time in my hood.

On tap at Rock &Brews, El Segundo, poured into shaker. Appearance is clear golden-orange with a short white head that hangs around and leaves some rings of lace on the glass. Aroma is hop-forward showcasing the citrus rind, pine, and orange/grapefruit juice character of the Simcoe and Amarillo hops. Some crackery malt notes are there if you seek them out. Taste is medium bitterness that is contrasted by a dry malt taste. Not a lot of sweetness. Medium body, crisp, average carbonation, long bitter finish.

Poured out of a 12 ounce bottle. My first beer for 2014. The aroma is filled with bready/biscuit malt character, citrus and pine hops. The flavor is bready, pine, citrus, herbal hop character. Dry and easy drinking, solid.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2013 Tap at mikkeller bar SF. Grapefruit and blood orange driven pale. Citrus fruits exploding on the nose. Holy shit this is amazing. Blood orange bitterness holds beautifully with a toffee biscuit malt backing. Fruit bowl like bitterness just clings constantly. Fucking Great pale one of the best I’ve had ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
