3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Slightly hazed orange with a forced but lasting head. I can tell by pouring this out of the bottle that it is lower in carbonation. Pineapple, guava, and bergamot makes for an attractive aroma. Really light, low carbonation body that’s juicy and dry. Unrefined but still really, really enjoyable. The body kind of resembles drinking out of a growler.

Bottle. Colour...slightly cloudy amber with a thick head. Nose...nice balance between the simcoe and Amarillo hops with some light malty notes. Palate...tingly effervescence, with a dry, bitter feel. The hops are quite evident as they meld with dry earth and dry grass flavours. There’s a crispness on the back of the palate as the finish stays deftly dry.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Pale malts, a touch of sweetness, some flowery hops, and a nice fresh piney finish. Pretty good; very drinkable for sure.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Slanted Door, San Franciso. Expected more , but that’s because the beer menu suggested this was an IPA instead of an APA. Subdued in flavor, at least if seem through an IPA lens. Quite hoppy, but rather wallow on balance and lacking pizzaz. Would like to try again now that I know it’s an APA.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Best Pale ale I have had to date, huge body and floral bright flavors balanced nicely. Could have a more diverse flavor but that’s being very very picky! Really good! - Enjoyed at MPCC in California

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a a golden orange, slight head. Aroma is crisp and piney, very bright as opposed to some more resinous beers. Body is medium-lively, finish slightly sweet, with some lingering bitterness. Very crisp and subtle, really a great example of the style.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Darught at Bailey’s Taproom, Portland. Very strong and fresh hop (Simcoe?) nose, tangy and fruity. Clear medium straw color with a creamy tan head.
Strong roast malt initial / harsh hops and some smoke-like notes / finishes with good, subtle bitterness. Medium body. Seems harsh at first, but then it restrains itself. Very interesting pale ale on steriods.

12 oz single from "Lifesource" in Salem.
slightly hazy deep golden ale with a small bubbly white head.
Fresh hoppy aromas fruity, stone fruits, some lemon ..nice.
Taste ,strangely, is more bitter ,resiny, powdery hops..certainly plenty bitter, low malt balance.
Nice enough mouthfeel to it, goes down well.
Not a bad pale..drinkable enough

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Red Robin, San Bruno. It pours a hazy, orange body under a small, off-white head. Rather piney aroma, with a good dash of orange peel and mandarine. Not much maltyness. There’s a fine and pleasant bitterness in the flavor, along with the pine cones and oranges found on the nose. Full to medium body, pleasant carbonation. Bitter finish with orange peel. A tasteful and refreshing beer I could drink a lot of. 130803

Had a sample in a flight at Mohawk Bend. Good, but not with a lot of individuality. Light.
