Noogfest.
Deep amber with a decent white head.
Toasted malt aroma accompanied by flowery hops.
Soft palate, nice dryness to this one.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with medium low carb and faint head. Nice citrusy aroma with some grapefruit rind. Apparent grainy pilsner malt aroma is surprising for a Yankee pale ale. Finally some sulfury yeast notes appear. Medium dry flavor with dry grapefruit and pilsner malt. This tastes very similar to something that could have been made in Sweden.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JAXSON (395) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Clear light orange gold pour, small white head. Nose is fresh, bright hops, tending toward orange skin and pine, with a bit of soft tropical fruit and light caramel malt. Mouth is heavy, herbal hops up front, dank and weed like at times. More malt than I thought, still not a ton. Sharp carbonation. Good stuff.

Several 12 oz bottles with dinner at The Slanted Door in San Francisco, California. Served in a red wine glass, which was nice. The pour is a slightly hazed orange copper with a well formed one inch white head. The aroma is fresh citrus (orange and mango) hops, with a nice toasted malt backbone. As it warms, there is a pleasant fruit melon that appears as well. Inviting nose. The taste follows the nose, great balance between the fresh citrus hops (more pineapple and grapefruit) and the light toast bready malt. Also in the flavor is a nice grassiness, which really sharpens up the flavor nicely. The palate is medium to light bodied, cleansing carbonation and a dry citrus finish. This worked really well with Vietnamese food, nice one.

on tap in SF. soft carbonation, very piney aroma, little malt. some spice in flavor, pretty fruity and on the sweet side. really does what it sets out to do, nice and bright and hoppy and still low enough abv to be refreshing and "sessionable".

This is a great pale ale. Aroma of citrusy hops and light malt. The flavor is hoppy without being overly bitter. Citrus flavors balanced excellently with the malts.

Orange color with good lace lines. Good citrus flavour and aromas. Seems to be well hopped. Smooth drinkability, above-average mouthfeel.

Poured from a 12-oz. bottle into a pint glass. Color was caramel amber. Tons of head, maybe because of a bad pour, but at least four fingers. Plenty of thick cloudy lacing. Lots of think cloudy film on the sides.
Nice smell, really what a pale ale should smell like. Light caramel notes.
Somewhat close to the taste, but still some differences. More of a dark fruit taste than the smell. Surprisingly slightly bitter late with a butter finish.
Light body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Smooth, watery finish.
This beer had its moments, but it could have been much better. The buttery taste just hit a nerve.
