COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We think you will enjoy this beer. For our 15th Anniversary beer we decided to throw the "style guideline" books out the window and create our own style. We set out to create something that would be strong enough and complex enough to age for all future anniversaries. We think we have accomplished that with this brew. We infused the finest ingredients available to us with our relentless passion for brewing good beer and topped it off with a little bit of creativity. We combined 2-row malt with Munich malt, Caramel malt and a touch of Chocolate malt for color. From there we added Noble hops imported from Germany to give the beer its bitterness and hop aroma. We then fermented it with a Lager yeast strain at 50*F for five weeks. After that it was allowed to lager for another four months to round out the flavors. What we ended up with is a beer that weighs in at a hefty 11% ABV with 25 IBU's and a nice ruby amber color."

I did enjoy this beer. Like almost nothing I’ve ever had ... or will again, alas. Earthy, almost musty aromas, with a hint of roastiness -- or is that caramel. Smooth, grassy hop aromas are very inviting. Amberish in color. Very smooth drinking and astounding given the alcohol content. Warming, but only after one finishes and realizes, "wow, I feel that now". Very smooth with a slightly lingering, almost chocolatey finish.

Bottle. Dark coppery pour. Caramel malty toffee aromas and flavors, with some hops and some notes of medium fruits. Light bitterness.

Popped the big liter and there was huge sediment down the neck... could be the CA to VA ariplane ride... poured a cloudy dark amber with big head. The initial sips were on the sweet side then it just got mellower as liter went down between two of us. nice balanced ale with hardly a hint of the abv until you are finished....

Pretty good beer. Alcohol is well hidden, body has a nice very. Toffee, Caramel, Butterscotch were all there.

Hazy copper ruby color with a frothy light-tan head. Fresh fruity hoppiness in the aroma has some enticing sweet caramel. Body starts sweet with some gritty caramel maltiness and a nice bittering hoppy balance toward a warming, alcoholic finish. Apart from the fact that it could hide the alcohol better, a nice beer that should age well.

Bottle courtesy of MrDick. Pours dark mahogany with tan head. Very fruity aroma, apple, and lots of tropical fruit. Flavor has all the fruit with some caramel malt and yeastiness. Kind of a wierd style, strong ale/ barley wine IMO. Scores don’t really indicate how much I enjoyed this brew, just hard to score individual categories any higher.

Bottle. Taste-sweet caramel, brown sugar, molasses, sticky syrup, light bourbon, vanilla, fig, breadry. I had the bourbon barrel version of this at the GABF, and I am pleased to say that this is almost as good. Very well done and enjoyable.

Poured a slightly hazy amber with a thin off-white head.. Fruity aroma with sweet toffee, malty. Mild notes of alcohol also present. Malty flavor with more toffee. Peppery on the finish from the alcohol.
