Deep malty aromas. Delicious but simple malt with oaken flavors. Lightly roasted with some subtle hoppy undertones.

pours brownish amber with good tan head - nice lace and retention. very nice nose of dusty cocoa and light refined hoppiness, w/some underlying caramel. creamy malt sweetness is touched by a bit of roast bite and herbaceaous hoppiness. good balance/easy drinker.

Yet another great beer from Drakes. Somewhat similar to their IPA without the hops. Overall, nice job.

Tried this on tap at Beer Lands inside the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco. Sweet malt flavor with nice citrus hop notes, a well balanced amber.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Smells fruiy-flowery, hoppy, sweet, like a light IPA. Deep golden amber color. Tastes very bitter, with a sweet malty caramel flavor. Roasty hoppy taste, emphasis on the hoppy. Dry bitter finish. Not my cup of beer.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2007 A pretty dark amber ale, darker than most. Has a smilir taste to Fat Tire, but I prefer this one a little more. Has nice roasted flavor to it.

Poured a light brown orange color with thin head. Getting an earthy malt backed up by a hop aroma. Mouthfeel is clean and light. Malt taste with a touch of chocolate milk that is gently washed away by the hop finish. Awesome Amber.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from draft to a pint. Way darker that a typical amber. Creamy brown head that sticks around for a while. Tons of caramel malt on the nose. A solid amber, but I wish it were a tad less sweet. It’s a solid amber, if a touch too sweet for my preferences.

12oz bottle pours a dark brown body with a very thin tan head. Aroma is bready malt with some subtle caramel and chocolate notes. Flavors follows aroma, but also brings along much more hop character. Very nice, complex amber ale. The wife approves, as well.
