COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship amber ale is brewed with English malt, hops and yeast. The extra malt lends a lightly toasted, chocolate flavor, a tawny color, and a smooth, rich character; it's perfect for sipping one or enjoying many.

Excellent aroms. Hops, piny and molassess. I like this. Thick and hoppy in the back, it has a nice but wierd balance of malts and hops. Just a little thin at times though.

Poured a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma consisted of peanuts, toffee, dry popcorn and a little earthy. Also present were notes of tobaco leaf and some chocolate. Malty flavor that is not nearly complex as the aroma. Mainly caramel with peanuts on the finish. Light to medium bodied with a hop bitterness on the finish.

Interesting amber. True to its description, it has a slight chocolate taste. Very different from other ambers Iíve had.

On tap at the brewery. Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, pale and caramel malts, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

Aroma is toffee, mild butterscotch, malts and a hint of earthiness. The flavor is toffee/caramel, fruit, citrus and a tart/malty finish.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with dirty_martini. Pours a hazy reddish amber with a moderate off-white head that was gone before mid-glass. Very nice aroma of buttery caramel. The aroma intensified as the beer warmed. The caramel was present in the flavor, but not nearly as much. The dominant flavor was a sharp resinous pine which left a lingering bitter taste well after the swallow. A bit over the top with the hops for my tastes.

From six pack that cost $8.99 at BevMo in Vacaville, CA this poured a cloudy brown with red tinges, and raised a fat off-white heasd and good lacing. Nose is of roasted malts and some floral hops. Light and fizzy mouthfeel. Flavor is dominated by the chocolate and there was not much in the finish. I was not very fond of this, but then that is true of most ambers. I have five bottle to give away.

12 oz bottle. Dark amber with a putty head and speckles of lace. Toasty nose gives way to a light dusty orange. Bitter lemon and citrus hops. A little caramel stop before resiny drying. Good bite for an amber. Light carb, body a bit thin.

12 ounce bottle purchased from the Davis Food Co-Op. Aroma is very pleasant. Moderately sweet, chocolate malty aromas present with some light floral spicy hoppy notes. A bit of brown sugar is also in there as well. Mmmm, smells good. Mostly transparent dark amber/light mahogany body with a rather frothy light tan head. Very attractive. Lightly sweet malty start, which quickly becomes quite cigar tobacco-like in terms of flavor. This then becomes quite creamy with a leathery, roasted, and toasted maltiness later. Some mild coffee flavors are also present with a small amount of floral hops late. Iíll tell you what, this is the benchmark of amber ales. This is what any brewer should strive for. Unfortunately, too many brewers mail in their amber ales for shit. This is dope.
