Our flagship amber ale is brewed with English malt, hops and yeast. The extra malt lends a lightly toasted, chocolate flavor, a tawny color, and a smooth, rich character; it's perfect for sipping one or enjoying many.

Pours a dark amber color with a one finger tan head. Smells strongly of malts and some toffee, caramel and hop aromas. Tastes of malts and caramel with some hop bite. Slight bitter finish. Medium body and decent carbonation. Overall a great amber/esb style ale.

Smells a little of treacle and malt and had a similar taste. Amber colour with lasting head. Nice malty taste with nice amount of fizz. (K)

Overnight Drakes started popping up in Seattle, and for this I am grateful. Draft pour pint at Toranado Seattle. Solid amber here, and has what I look for in one. Pours a deep dark thick brown with an infinite foam head and lacing. Soft malt forward aroma. Creamy body with a nutty malt lingering flavor. Very cream centered. Very tasty beer in a style I tend to avoid. Impressed with this one.

On tap (Lucky 13). I knew this would be a West Coast take on an amber beer and many of Drakeís brews are over hopped for my taste but I liked this. Too dark indoors to see the color but it gave the impression of being on the darker edge of "amber." Smooth; malts and hops in relative balance, at least by Northwest standards. Neither cloyingly sweet nor painfully bitter. Liked it and will try it again next time Iím in.

[2/21/15] Draught at Winter Brew Fest 2015 in San Diego. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, toast and some floral hops. Sweetish flavor, malty and toasty, with some floral hops and a mild bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Easy-drinking.

On tap at Flavor in Half Moon Bay, CA. Pour is medium amber. Aroma is caramel, black tea. Taste is smooth malts then quickly turns to mild bitternes (A bit unexpected at first but grows more enjoyable).

Yet another great beer from Drakes. Somewhat similar to their IPA without the hops. Overall, nice job.

Iím a huge Drakeís fan.... Also a huge amber fan, so this beer could do no wrong! Itís not the best Iíve ever had, by a long shot, but itís a great beer to have that change of pace from the shit beers on tap in most bars.

On tap at the brewery. Pours deep amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, pale and caramel malts, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

Aroma is toffee, mild butterscotch, malts and a hint of earthiness. The flavor is toffee/caramel, fruit, citrus and a tart/malty finish.
