Aroma Coma is our summer seasonal India Pale Ale. We’ve brewed it annually since 2009 for a local IPA festival, where it was selected one of the top three beers in the competition. The malt bill consists of almost all 2-row barley malt, with a touch of Caramalt for body - leaving you with a delightfully hop-forward experience. Generous amounts of Cascade, Chinook, CTZ & Citra hops create the citrus, pine, and floral notes. Breathe ’Em in and enjoy!

Bottle - pours a hazy orange w/ white head. Get some oranges and tangerines in the nose. More citrus flavors in the taste plus some lemons and a bitter grapefruit finish. It's decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Aroma Coma pours a slightly hazy golden-orange color with a moderate off-white head. Grassy hop aroma, with flowers, pine, and tropical fruit. Definitely a nice scent here, as the name suggests. There’s an assortment of juicy hop flavors to this thirst quenching IPA. Sweet passionfruit, oranges, and puckery grapefruit come to mind. Light pine mixes in, although less pronounced than the aroma, with very light doughy malt, and some grassy notes sneaking in there. This isn’t overly bitter for a West Coast IPA but there’s still enough firm bitterness to satisfy, and this has a nice dry finish. I like the drinkability; tasty and goes down easily with lighter malt and body. Good IPA.

Type: 0.5L (16.9 oz.) draft Glass: Pint glass From: Tiger! Tiger! In North Park (San Diego), Calif. Price: $6.00 Purchased: Aug. 4, 2013 Consumed: Aug. 4, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a honey orange hazy color with two fingers of pillowy creamy white head when I got it. Good amount of foamy layered lacing on the sides of the glass all the way down. Good retention on the top. Smelled a potent whiff of floral and citrus hops. Also grapefruit, tangerine, orange, orange rind, pine and lime. Tasted similar to the smell, with more bitterness. Floral and citrus hops dominated. Also grapefruit, tangerine, orange, light pine, lime and caramel. Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, refreshing bitter finish. Just another fantastic beer from Drake’s. Been meaning to try this and I’m so glad I did.

Bottle, 22oz. It pours an unclear golden-orange body and a small, dense, off-white head, The aroma is lightly and tropical, with peaches and some bananaa. Full-bodied and tasteful, with a pleasnt level of carbonation. Lasting flavor with tropical fruits, orange peel and some malty sweetness. Lasting biter finsh. A nice one indeed. 130803
