COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shake out from Aroma Coma with Aroma Prieta. Aroma Coma’s sister beer mirrors its twin starting with primarily American 2-row barley malt. and a touch of Caramalt for body. From there, we turn things upside down. This time, Prieta leaves behind Aroma Coma’s North American hops for some Southern Hemisphere hop action. New Zealand hops Nelson Sauvin, Pacific Jade, and Motueka and Aussie hop Helga in the double dry-hop give Aroma Prieta huge notes of tropical fruit, gooseberries, and grapefruit. Like Aroma Coma but different: breathe in these hops and enjoy.

Amazing ipa, so fruity, floral amd tasty. Not super bitter, but it is a single ipa. Very nice malt profile, excellent beer by Drakes.

Not a good ipa example. Pours an ugly clear yellow with a white head. Smells nice, herby and hoppy and a bit of citrus. Taste however is not good, dominated by pineapple that has gone bad, and a lingering bitterness. Had on tap at the brewery.

"Like aroma coma, definitely in the upper eschelon of IPAs. Same feel, but the hops are more spicy (not as good) but practically bursting with tropical fruit aroma and flavors (great). I’ll put this a half notch below coma only cuz we had it practically fresh off the vine, but this stuff is great. Kudos to Drakes on yet another hit!"

On tap at Encinitas ale house... Pours pale golden brown and topped with a thin wispy head... Old faded papery citrus aroma... Slight improvement in the flavor but not much. Papery malty base, seems oxidized, and a faint citrus profile and bitter backend. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Old.

Draft @ Drakes. Clearish light amber with a fine white head. Aroma of white grapes, grapefruit peel, cat pee and tropical fruit, the hop aroma is so strong that it overpowers any malt scent. Flavor is loaded with fresh, juicy hops, it has a strong bitterness with mild malt sweetness and finishes dry. Medium body with a long, dry, bitter finish. Wow fantastic beer, loaded with fresh hop aroma and a very balanced flavor that leans to the bitter side.

On tap @ Hollingshead. Golden orange pour with a white head. Big grapefruit, pineapple, and pine on the nose. Mango, cantaloupe, and tangerine. Nice! Flavor is not quite as good as the nose, but still lots of good grapefruit, mango, and pineapple. Bitter citrus rind and pine. Some caramel sweetness.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of bright piney hops, a little citrus tang, and a slight touch. Flavour brings out loads of piney hops, some citrus tang, a touch of floral hops, and a touch of orange-like fruits. Very pine-hop heavy, dry and a slight citrus tang. Exceedingly highly drinkable, with wonderful balance. Dry mouthfeel, with just enough fruitiness. Excellent stuff.

12 ounce pour at Preserve in Winters, CA. The aroma has some initial citrus notes, but these fade pretty quickly. Light orange and tangerine notes. Becomes a little malty with some husked aromas. Almost a woody, bark-like aroma. Mildly hazy golden-orange body with a medium whitish head. Starts with herbal, earthy hop flavors. Has some light onion, too. Medium malt huskiness. Finishes with bitter, oniony and sweaty sock hop flavor. Not a fan.

On tap at Beercraft. Hazy tangerine gold. Aroma is faint, pale malty, earthy and noble hoppiness with a citric tinge. Not into the flavor much either. Kinda lacking in hop character. Pale malts are detectable and the bitterness is thankfully very solid. Underwhelming.

Yellow orange in color... Aroma is faint hops... Flavor is wet hops, malt sweetness with lingering rich burnt toffee notes and dry citrus hop finish... Solid ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
