Sampled at the Bistro IPA fest. Just now getting to my notes. Drakes always hits a home run for me. This one was no different. It pours orange with a nice fluffy white head. The aroma is tropical fruit. The flavor is very full with caramel and citrus/tropical fruit. Big grapefruity finish.

Draft. Amber beer with a light cream colored head. Big summer fruit aroma. Tropical fruit and citrus flavor with light earth. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Tropical fruit lingers with citrus and light dustiness.

9/28/10 notes: On tap, Najas. Color is light amber-orange. Nose has grapefruit and citrus primarily. Mouthfeel is quite light, and finishes quicker than most IPA/Pale Ales. Flavor maintains crisp flowers, cut grass, and grapefruit skin. A hint of sweeter malt immediately following the hop rush, but all flavor seems to disappear fairly quickly. Still, refreshing and hoppy fresh.

On tap. Clear orange-bronze pour with a large and lasting off-white. Excellent lacing. Aroma is floral, rose water, orange, kumquat, light mango. Dry, tasty, lively, lingering bitterness. Flavors of grapefruits and orange. Delicious, dry , and super well balanced

Bistro 13th IPA Fest notes. Very good IPA, possibly excellent. Light to medium gold liquid with a white cap. Floral, tropical and pine notes dominated the aroma. Dry with a touch of rubber in the finish but it doesn’t spoil things. Otherwise, it’s a solidly bitter finish. Quite satisfying. Probably top five for the day.

Tasted at the Bistro’s 13th Annual IPA Fest 8/7/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is orange, citrus and pineapple. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity, orange and apricot. The hops are citrusy and piney. Nice carbonation. A very intense hop aroma on this beer, but that should be a given with what it is called. Nice carbonation. Lots of hop bitterness, without a lot of sweetness. There is a little sweetness at the finish, which is also kind of dry. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
