Drake’s Black Robusto Porter is a deep, dark “Robust Porter,” a beer style known for being darker, fuller-bodied, and higher in alcohol by volume than a standard Brown Porter. Our Black Robusto goes down smoothly with flavors of bittersweet chocolate an slight roast from Crystal and Chocolate malt. A touch of spicy, herbal hop character from Willamette hops balance out the finish. Enjoy a pint with dark, lingering satisfaction.

Enjoyed at dinner with Zach and Brandon with homemade Indian food. Pours a dark black color with a nice java head. Nose is sublime chocolate and deliciously so with sweet malt as well. Taste is rich chocolate, light with sweet malt, drinks quite easily. Finish is sweet chocolate, dessert on a bottle. Nice light porter. Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours black with a brown head and sweet chocolate, roasted malt aroma. Taste is sweet, nice chocolate notes throughout with burnt roasted malt, and light bittering coffee and hops into the finish. Delicious porter

Sampled at DLD 2014. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of dry roast, light bitter chocolate and some coffee. The taste was of pleasant chocolate with bitter coffee, roast and pine with a little bitterness. Good stuff..

Nice coffee aroma. It has the right caramel taste, but the aftertaste goes too sour to enjoy before the next gulp. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber pours a dark brown/black with a large dark tan head. Well balanced aroma of slick molasses, chocolate malts a slight coffee roast and a touch of hop spice. Taste is sweet Chocolate into bitter chocolate and some roasted malts, finishing more sweet with some coffee and light hop. Nice, drinkable.

Type: 22-oz. glass Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass From: Whole Foods in Hillcrest (San Diego), Calif. Price: $4.99 Purchased: Feb. 12, 2014 Consumed: Feb. 16, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a practically pitch black color with two fingers of frothy tan head. Above average of light semi-layered lacing along the sides of the glass. Good retention all the way down. Smelled cocoa, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, black coffee, fudge, cocoa nibs and light smoky fire notes. Tasted similar to the nose, although not quite as good. Got dark chocolate, dark chocolate cocoa mix, chocolate syrup, smoky notes, caramel, toffee and black coffee. Full-to-medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming, bitter finish. This was a pretty good porter, although something was slightly off. The smell was by far the best part.

Dark with tan head. Roasted malt smell and taste. Not very bitter and not a lot of hops. Nice that it's only 6.3% abv. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours like something called "Robusto" should ... deep, dark and brooding. It drinks with a nice roasty basis. There’s a bit of a semi-sweet chocolate in the finish, and even a subtle hint of herbal spice, just like they say. Yummy. (#5420, 1/28/2014)
