4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Arôme suave de torréfaction chaude, chocolat et de pain grillé, brulé. En bouche c’est adéquatement moelleux pour la grosseur, moyenne décadence et belle finale sèche abrupte et amère.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured with a large, frothy, long lasting, brown head that settles very slowly, some lace, and an opaque black brown color. Aroma is fairly basic - roast, cocoa, coffee, dark malt. Flavor’s like nose, but malt comes out more with carbonic tang in the front with a very smooth palate to make this such an easy drinking beer. Just a few off notes in the finish. But what the hell. Good schtuff Maynard.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2015 Bomber, poured into a pint glass. Black with a medium mocha head and great lasting lacing. Aroma is dominated by coffee and chocolate, licorice and nuts, with some burned notes from the roasted malts. Has a nice finish to it. Great Cigar Beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber purchased at Distillers Outlet in Poway a little over two years ago ($4.99). Pours basic black with brown highlights, but the vigorous pour produces only a half finger of brown-beige foam. AROMA of quite dark chocolate, roasted malts, creamy vanilla, roasted nuts, and some dark coffee. FLAVOR has much the same as the nose with notes of chocolate-covered roasted nuts, burnt toast, espresso, ashy roasted malts, and vanilla. Finishes with lots of roasty and coffee bitterness and not much in the way of sweetness. Somewhat thin mouthfeel, but otherwise full of flavor and character. Not sure how much the two years of aging changed this, but today it is a really nice American porter. (92, 950)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Complex nose, roasty-treacley with a touch of sourness (in a pleasant way). Somewhat sweet with a roasty bite, but no harshness. Great full body, lasting moderately bitter finish. A wonderful beer. Great combination of malt and bitterness. A lot of flavor and body packed into a 6.3% beer.

~Rich chocolaty espresso aroma, dark and milk chocolate, bready and biscuity. Like a fresh baked bread smothered in chocolate and dipped in coffee.
~Pours black with frothy lasting brown head.
~Cold pressed coffee flavor, smooth yet slightly bitter acridness, dark chocolate and bread.
~Medium full bodied, with low CO2, smooth and soft on palette. Lingering bitter coffee finish.
~Damn good beer. Enjoyable and interesting. Very smooth and easy to drink.
