COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drake’s Black Robusto Porter is a deep, dark “Robust Porter,” a beer style known for being darker, fuller-bodied, and higher in alcohol by volume than a standard Brown Porter. Our Black Robusto goes down smoothly with flavors of bittersweet chocolate an slight roast from Crystal and Chocolate malt. A touch of spicy, herbal hop character from Willamette hops balance out the finish. Enjoy a pint with dark, lingering satisfaction.

Rich coffee and chocolate aroma along with some roasted malt notes. Pours a rich, deep black with a dark tan one and a half finger head. Tastes of strong roasted malt flavor. Chocolate and coffee dominate the flavor. Medium to full body with a slightly creamy texture. Low carbonation and a chocolaty finish. Overall a very good robust porter.

Seriously thick tan head. Dark black body. Intense roasted coffee aroma. Flavors of the espresso and black licorice. Very chewy body. Slightly bitter finish. Would definitely buy this again!

I enjoyed the chocolate flavor and thicker mouthfeel of this porter. Not quite as creamy as a stout but not as thin as a porter. Slightly nutty and maybe a little coffee as well. Dark roasted malt but not burnt.

Draft from notes summer 2014. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, some coffee, chocolate, burnt toast, hints of spicy hops, moderate bitterness to the finish, pretty straightforward robust porter although just a bit thin.

On tap at 83° in Carlsbad, CA. Opaque, ruby-black w a fine tan head and very nice lacing that does not hang around very long. Aroma of dark roasted malt, rich coffee and chocolate. Taste of dark roasted malt, roasted coffee, cocoa and nuts. Medium/light body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Arôme suave de torréfaction chaude, chocolat et de pain grillé, brulé. En bouche c’est adéquatement moelleux pour la grosseur, moyenne décadence et belle finale sèche abrupte et amère.

Poured with a large, frothy, long lasting, brown head that settles very slowly, some lace, and an opaque black brown color. Aroma is fairly basic - roast, cocoa, coffee, dark malt. Flavor’s like nose, but malt comes out more with carbonic tang in the front with a very smooth palate to make this such an easy drinking beer. Just a few off notes in the finish. But what the hell. Good schtuff Maynard.
