A bit better then their Robustito Porter. Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick tan head. Smells of bourbon and caramel. No vanilla like the Robustito. Taste is better balanced. Lots of caramel to accentuate the bourbon.

On tap at Extreme Pizza during Sacramento Beer Week, surprisingly sour, stout gets dominated a bit.

Draft at Churchill’s. Black pour, with a small tan head. Milk chocolate, moderate roasted malt, bourbon barrel character, vanilla, and notes of raisin. Unfortunately, tasting next to Finest Hour, makes this beer feel thin amd watery.

Draft. This beer was delicous. Sweet roasted coffee and light raspberry aromas, smooth, not too long of a finish. It just was a little flat but that is often the case with these barrel aged beers. So good!

On tap a O’Brien’s, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of light bourbon, vanilla, and light roast. Flavour brings out loads of vanilla, bourbon and light oats. Quite well-balanced, and vanilla-dominated. Great stuff.

Draft @ Drakes, labeled 2013 Bourbon Barrel Aged Drakonic. Dark hazy brown with a fine, dense tan head. Big aroma of oak and bourbon with plenty of chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Flavor is rich dark chocolate malt, oak, boozy bourbon and vanilla and light roasty malt and a mild sweetness. Full body with a soft mouth feel. Really nice BA stout, the barrel aging complements the base beer wonderfully.
