4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle via trade. Medium amber with a large creamy off-white head. The aroma’s actually pretty peppery. Dusty countryside, plenty of grass. Moderate lemon sherbet and caramel-dipped mango fruit leather sweetness. Surprisingly smooth for a beer touching 10%. Slight heat, caramel and tree bark. Peppered flowers and orange peel. Moderately bitter finish. Oily, but not overly so. Crisp carbonation keeps things relatively light on the palate. Overall, quite good. The distinct peppery flavors set this apart from most IIPAs I’ve tried.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark amber coloured brew. Hoppy, caramel and spices. Not bad at all. Maybe just a bit to simple to be with the real big players.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Dark amber pour with a decent off-white head. Nose was fragrant hop aplenty, booze, citrus and sweet malts. Flavour ploughed a similar furrow with robust hop bitterness and quite prominent alcohol. Overall the hops on show here are terrific and this is a very tasty DIPA. Liking all the output I’ve tasted from the Drake’s stable very much.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
A pretty good Imperial IPA. It has a nice floral nose, pours with a rich amber color and a nice puffy head. Lacing is decent, but the mouthfeel is great with this beer. The high alcohol gives the beer a sweet finish, a little sweeter than I prefer and one that has been better hidden in some other high alcohol IPAs

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled 2/05/14. Hazy and glowing yellow/orange pour with a froth of white foam. Sharp pine, hop bitterness, and a noticebly sweet malt backbone in the aroma. Taste is resinous pine and focused hop bitterness over a sweet and bready malt backbone. Somewhat coating mouthfeel. Solid IIPA.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 Oz Bottle. The beer pours to a deep amber orange color mostly clear with a very thick white head. The aroma has notes of citrus pine resin some caramel. The taste also has strong such as hop notes that are very bitter upfront taste followed by a smooth finish. Overall an excellent DIPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at The Local Pub, Halandri.
The bottle did mention the inclusion of Columbus hops.
Nose: Strong phenolic odour with fruity accents and a syrupy sweetness. Apricot, seville orange, strawberry, yeast, honey are some of the aromas.
Mouthfeel: Big bodied with a creamy feel.
Taste: Bittersweet and spicy. Phenolic, funky, alcoholic flavours. Orange marmalade, caramel and more...
Finish: Bittersweet and fruity, with a gentle alcoholic warmth.
Overall: A beer of serious complexity. Great, if you like your DIPA to lean on the sweet side a bit.
