COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Silver Medal winner for Imperial India Pale Ale, Great American Beer Festival 2009. Besides Jolly Roger, this is probably Drake’s most renowned beer. An Imperial (or Double) IPA, Denogginizer is a big bold beer hopped with an abundant amount of Simcoe and Amarillo with a touch of Ahtanum and Chinook. Mashed with Crystal malt and Caramalt for color and flavor to help balance out the hop assault. Denogginizer is also Drake’s most powerful regular offering, at a whopping 10% alcohol by volume!

bomber shared. a typical dipa. yellowish to orange color with white head...nice malt base with pine and citrus on the nose and in the flavor...nothing really jumps out about this one...alcohol is hidden..found it decent enough to find another bottle.

color is a light amber or orange-ish. aroma is dank and grapefruity with slight hints of cherry or dark fruit. Taste is full of malty plum notes, with a hint of grape tannins. palate is crisp as can be. Overall, I'm very impressed that the beer can simultaneously be so crisp, malty, and 10% abv. A hallmark double ipa.

Very floral hop aroma with a bit of malt come from this clear copper brew with an off white head of medium bubbles. This medium bodied brew is malty indeed with a great hop flavor and a good aftertaste of hop bitterness. A good balance. Has a bit of burn from the almost %10. A very good imperial.

Ok this is a wonderful beer. Lovely in the glass, a blaze orange. Nose is tropical fruits, pear and lemon rind. Taste is so balanced and delicious....the beautiful dry finish makes the next sip something to look fwd to. One the the best DIPA’s out there.

Aroma is citrus floral onion. Appearance is crystal clear copper w off white head. Taste is clean malt hop flavor forward. A crisp caramel malt folllowed immediatelly by hop bitterness. Palate is crisp but has some malt as well. Overall a nice IIPA.

Bottle at Mikkeller Stockholm. Pours hazy amber. Very nice full and smooth mouthfeel. Caramel, fudge and some citrusy hops, but in total, more malt than hops.

Bottle via trade. Medium amber with a large creamy off-white head. The aroma’s actually pretty peppery. Dusty countryside, plenty of grass. Moderate lemon sherbet and caramel-dipped mango fruit leather sweetness. Surprisingly smooth for a beer touching 10%. Slight heat, caramel and tree bark. Peppered flowers and orange peel. Moderately bitter finish. Oily, but not overly so. Crisp carbonation keeps things relatively light on the palate. Overall, quite good. The distinct peppery flavors set this apart from most IIPAs I’ve tried.
