COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Silver Medal winner for Imperial India Pale Ale, Great American Beer Festival 2009. Besides Jolly Roger, this is probably Drake’s most renowned beer. An Imperial (or Double) IPA, Denogginizer is a big bold beer hopped with an abundant amount of Simcoe and Amarillo with a touch of Ahtanum and Chinook. Mashed with Crystal malt and Caramalt for color and flavor to help balance out the hop assault. Denogginizer is also Drake’s most powerful regular offering, at a whopping 10% alcohol by volume!

Pours golden orange with brown hues and a big white head. Nose is rich caramel, molasses, honey and pine. Taste is sweet for a second the. The hop smack in the face is delivered with great bitterness. Mouthfeel is sticky and creamy, body is heavy and the finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear red-copper with thin creamy white head and frothy legs. Smells and tastes of very piney resinous hop, lightly spiced/peppery malt. Palate is bitter, peppery, light to medium. Very good but not original - feel like I've had many other big IPAs in a similar pine/resinous vein.

Bottle from QClub at home. Clear deep amber copper pour with fluffy head. Aroma is big boozy hops - somewhat standard resinous DIPA. Pine resin, lemon, malty biscuit. Taste follows - deeply resinous hops, very bitter. Then some caramel maltiness. Boozy bitter finish with lingering warmth. Solid DIPA but not that original.

Pours cloudy golden with dense but thin head. Crisp bitter aroma, extremely bitter flavour. Well made but ultimately too much for me.

Pitcher Pour @ Hopgeist. Amber color, mild lace, light nose. Sweet start with a bitter finish, great balance with a bit of citrus orange notes. (rest of notes illegible due to beer damage)
