3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 coreyc1221 (59) - USA - MAY 12, 2013
Raisin and malt aroma. Beige pillow head. Darker amber color with some cloudiness. Malty taste. Has a wood and slight lemon feel at first then a bitter and smokey after taste. This feels like it would go great with some seafood. That’s what the tongue is saying.

Beautiful beer. I control "f’d" honey and got nothing on the review page, and I am shocked. Reminds me of Firestone’s Double Jack but a bit more boozy and a lil less hop forward... so i guess, not really at all like Double Jack. Overall, awesome beer; I’ll be purchasing this again.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 batneil (127) - - APR 30, 2013
Very very fine beer. Just enough fizz, bitter flavour, light amber in colour. Perhaps too powerful to drink in large volume though.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle thanks to mashmaster. Pours a copper color with a fluffy beige head of foam. Aroma is bready with a lot of caramel character. This beer has very little in the way of hop profile. I don’t know that this beer is currently at its best.

October 28th, 2011 - Drake’s Denogginizer is one of the first Drake beers to make it to a visible place on shelves here in San Diego, but it didn’t need too much help. The bold, artistic label is eye-catching, and the price is more than reasonable. Greater rewards await the drinker behind the glass, where a surprisingly fruity double IPA lurks. The smell from the bottle and the glass exhibits fruity esters, pine, and a soft marshmallow sweetness. And while these aromas are generally sharp and acidic, the smell itself is thick and nostril-clogging, perfuming not only the air around the glass, but the whole damn room. A sweet hops jumps out on the palate first, followed by more pine resin and orange juice, coaxed through to a medium-long aftertaste where the sugars gently glow before they’re extinguished by a short passing of time. A dusty birch tree woodiness also appears in the aftertaste, after the loud chiseling of a high ABV and a sentry of sugars have mostly passed. The hops flavor is unique too, and I can see why when I refer to their commercial description and see a type of hops I’ve never even heard of before. The Donogginizer hits the palate on all fronts, and deserves a place at the end of a line of tastings where it’s savagery won’t harm innocent bystanders. It’s a solid offering from a brewery I’ve never had before, and while my palate is eager for other sample of the hard-headed wash of flavors, I am also eager to try Drake’s other brews.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 pineypower (2149) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - APR 6, 2013
Bottle shared thanks to Dmac. Pours a clear amber color with a light off white head. Aroma is of grapefruit, citrus, lightly subdued hop resin, light grainy malt notes, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is grapefruit, citrus, bready malts, light pine mild sweetness and some drying alcohol on the finish.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ddemmingjr (592) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - APR 4, 2013
Bottle: pours clear copper, dense khaki head that persists, great retention. Nose is floral, herbal hops, oranges, crystal malts. More juicy orange citrus hops and crystal and caramel malt sweetness balancing out this bright DIPA. A little heat on the long finish. Pretty good but a tad thin. Almost met expectations

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GIJOE (128) - Monterey, California, USA - MAR 31, 2013
So, this is not my style of brew and there are a few things I don’t like about it, even though I recognize that for the style, this is good brew.
Copper colored on the pour; foamy white head.
Nose is like stuffing a bouquet of hops in your face. Taste is intense hoppy bitterness and I really can’t get past that to the malt, This is hopped up hoppy hoppification.
Palate is fairly full and creamy in texture.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DocJitsu (306) - California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Pours a murky gray golden with a light taupe, foamy head. the head retains very well. Unique looking beer. Buttered biscuits and toffee aromas. The moutfheel is peculiar. There is a low current electrical tingling that encapsulates the tongue. I’ve never had it, but I’d bet a puffer fish filet imparts a similar sensation. Clean, thick toffee and butter flavors with noticeable alcohol warmth. Finishes with a quickly dissipating bitterness. Sweet grain eventually dominates in the end.
