Poured from the bomber into an English pint glass. Color is jet black with a dark brown head that lightens slightly as it sits. Aroma is extremely malty with lots of sweet chocolate and toffee notes as well as dark fruit, and roasted coffee. Flavor doesn’t disappoint either: Semi-sweet with chocolate, dark fruit, and some roasted coffee bitterness towards the finish. Full bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a dry finish. Overall a quite pleasing imperial stout.

650ml bottle, bought Feb 2012. Pours deep black with a mocha coloured head that quickly dies to a fine lacing. Aromas of coffee grounds, molasses, dark chocolate, cinder toffee, roasted malts and a little lactic sourness.
Taste is bitter coffee, dark chocolate, hops, sweet dark fruit (date, raisin), & just a hint of alcohol but nothing really dominates; well balanced. Full bodied mouthfeel, with good clean carbonation. Long, bitter sweet finish with a hint of sweet black coffee hitting the back of the tongue on the way down. A pleasurable Imperial Stout.

Inky black pour, thick brown head that dissipates slowly. Cherry, roasted malt, with a tiny hint of alcohol on the nose. Complex malty, choclatey flavor with a satisfying, long bitter finish.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cooperii (61) - California, USA - AUG 4, 2012
Pours black with little head and significant lacing. Strong malt aroma, undertones of hops, fig and a hint of chocolate. Toasted malt and coffee flavors immediately followed by bitter sweet chocolate with subtle fig and cherry flavors. Finish; great full flavors, very bright and bitter at the beginning and transitions to coffee and chocolate with a nice dry dark fruit finish. This beer gets better as it warms up!

Beautiful aromas of dark roasted coffee, dried dates, and heavy molasses. Deep, dark brownish black in color with a decent mocha colored foam. Spectacular explosion of complex flavors; some of which include coffee, nuts, molasses, caramel, maple and subtle yeast. Medium bodied yet, full flavored with well masked carbonation and alcohol. Overall, this is a complete beast of a beer with massive malty flavors and a genius balance. I’d give this an A+ rating.
