A big, malty beast of a beer that exemplifies the way we roll here at Drakeís. Two-row malt is blended with Chocolate malt, roasted barley, and dark Crystal malts to make up the grist. Only one hop addition, Columbus, is added for bittering, allowing the abundance of malt in this beer to shine through. Enjoy the dense brownish head, the silky maltiness, and flavors of licorice, coffee and chocolate, rounded out with a slightly dry finish. hereís to those who donít fear the mighty!

Bottle probably well under a year old. Pours black with tan fleeting head and lace. Aroma is big and bitter sweet roast, nuts, and licorice. Flavor follows suit with well balanced chocolate and light raisin sweetness with heavier roast and hop bitterness than I would expect for 40 IBU. Feel is lively and cooling with a long roast linger and relatively light body. Iím loving this classic and not too aggressive take on an imperial stout. Kind of an every day imperial stout of very high quality.

Pitch black syrupy pour with small tan head. Chocolate and Coffee nose and the roasted malts come through real nice. This is one inviting aroma! Taste is pretty much similar to the smell and a nice sweet aftertaste. Awesome thick and creamy mouthfeel with not too much carbo. Fantastic imperial stout. Cool to have found this in a belgian beer store. Highly recommended!

Bottle shared by Mick at a tasting at my place. Big umami savoury nose, milk chocolate on a thick slick pour. Bitter dark chocolate, berries, roasty & sweet really good stuff.

this one sucked. first impression was that it wrecked of old milk. Bad cream. Taste was thick and lactosy. This was bad.

Darkness black color with a nice brown head, 1 finger tall! Aromas of dark chocolate and coffee with notes of caramel! Taste was chocolate on the maximum, with coffee and caramel on the backbone. Bittersweet, long aftertaste, very sticky to the mouth! Medium body (maybe light for an Imperial Stout) with low to medium carbonation! Excellent!!

Bomber. Pours dark black, brown sugar foam beautiful. Aromas are of chocolate, barley, and crystal malts, with that classic columbus note, as advertised. Taste is sharp and clean and nice. Exactly what you want in an impy stout. Itís no Expedition, as itís ultimately a little "simple", but in a day and age where so many breweries are trying too hard, this one hits just right. Good stuff.
