Bomber. Chalkiness was the most predominant distinguishing characteristic. After that, it was somewhat chocolaty, somewhat malty, a little bit of milky sweetness. Maybe some licorice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Drake’s Drakonic Imperial Stout 2/8/13 notes: bomber. Pours dark brown, nice healthy and fine tan head. Milk chocolate, hop resin, condensed milk, ground coffee, faint coconut on nose. Palate is on the lighter side, but consistent with the slightly diminished alcohol. Big flavors upfront, big hops and roasts lots of roasts, coffee and chocolate. Shifts weight towards truffle, then, surprisingly nosedives into a firm bitterness and woody chocolate. Char and bitterness and toasted marshmellow build in finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 15, 2013 2012:This dark-brown/black colored brew has a medium-brown colored head and an aroma that’s sweet, slightly chocolaty, and lightly toasted. In the mouth, the body is light for the style and the flavor is malty and almost sweet. Eh... really, there’s not much to say about this beer. It’s actually a little plain and, well, almost boring. But still good. Does that make any sense?
2013: Perfectly black in color with a medium-brown coloread head. Aroma is roasted,
but with a touch of molasses and some coffee. Smells strong of freshly roasted
grains. Soft, it almost feels like a straight up stout in the mouth. Full, thick, and
extremely well-balanced and blended with a heavily roasted malt finish.

A good stout. Pours a thick black with a brown head. Smells nutty. Taste is vanilla, nuttiness, and some hops. Slight hoppy aftertaste. Not bad! Had in the bottle.

nutty, roasty, malty aroma. nice frothy tan colored head. flavor is very malty with good bitterness and minimal hopping. nice medium/full bodied, carbonation on the medium side. has some zing to it. only bittersweet, not sugary. hard to complain about, textbook example of a good impy stout
