4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I had this on a nitro tap so my experience might be skewed. Dark almost black color with a creamy tan head. Light creamy nutty scents. Bitter coffee nuttiness oh so creamy from that nitro. Bitter residue of cold coffee.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at the Barrel House. Nitro pour. Black in color with a dense, creamy, nitro head. The aroma is awesome with rich chocolate and mocha coffee roast. The flavor is the same. Smooth full body with dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Very rich, yet drinkable. The board at the Barrel House said this was 4.8% ABV… tasted bigger to me, but I could session this. Totally tasty. Kicks the pants off Guinness or any other dry stout I’ve had.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nitro at Capitol Beer. Pours creamy tan, shifting to very dark brown/black with orange glints as the foam collapses - three levels at one point. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Foam is creamy milk chocolate - ending a bit chalky. Liquid is mildly bitter burnt malt with some chocolate and a smoky aspect. It is dry. Goes down a treat.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Drakes Barrel House. Pours black with a fluffy tan head and a smoky treacle aroma. Very smooth due to the nitro, with the smokiest chocolate malt flavor I have tasted in a stout. It’s dry alright.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Drake’s Barrel House pouring up via nitro with deep dark mahogany body with infrared edges and thick tight creamy nitro mocha head. The aroma offers up a nice malt roastiness with some burnt malts around the edges. The taste has a bit of nitro pour creaminess that creates a highly roasted maltiness, a touch of chocolate malts, some earthiness and then ramping up into increasing levels of burnt maltiness. Nice thickly roasty brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Churchill in San Francisco. Dark brown in color with a creamy 1.5-finger tan head that lasts. The aroma is very nice with huge chocolate notes, roast, and coffee. Intensity is almost what I’d expect from an imperial stout. The flavor is excellent with big chocolate - dark chocolate mostly - as well as smooth roastiness. Great balance of sweetness and dryness. Smooth, creamy, mouthfeel that is fairly drying with a good level of carbonation. A really great dry stout overall. Drake’s is really stepping up its game.
