Tasted on tap at the 7th Annual Bistro Double IPA fest. This Imperial IPA pours a deep orange color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty and caramel, touch herbal and garlic?
A medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. Hops are citrusy and orange, with some herbs and garlic as well. Lots of malt flavors, the hops are there and they tend to grow and build as you drink this one. Interesting. Lots of residual bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap - Toronado & DIPA Festival
pours mahogany with a light tn head... long lasting lace..
Huge huge nose of herbal, floral, tangerine and toffeish malts followed with some sticky resiny notes
Flavors: Starts malty before wave after wave of hop flavors take over everything from spicy (white pepper) earthy, fruity (citrus) and a great bite to balance caramel, toast and honey like base mats and some resiny notes afterwards
palate: medium light bodied with a restrained carbonation allowing the resiny citrusy finish to linger
Overall: MY top choice at the DIPA festival 2007 (Bistro) from sniff to sip and finish a huge WOW!!! Cheers.. Thank you Rodger ... what fantastic DIPA... a gem amongst other "BIG" DIPA ABSOLUTELY WORTH Seeking out

Valley Brew tasting Feb 2007 - Aroma is loaded with floral and citrus hops with caramel malt creeping in behind. Flavor is also very strong hops with the "herbiness" of the summits coming out in the finish. Palate is smooth and creamy for such a hop monster. A unique and very tasty DIPA.

On tap at Toronado. Dark orange color, lots of traditional hop citrus and pine aroma with an extra little something I couldn’t pick out until ready IrishBoy’s review -- ivy. Weird but enjoyable. Flavor was well balanced with creamy caramel malt and an oppressive hop bitterness. A non-beer friend I was with almost spit it out.

From a growler. Burnt copper color with a white head. Huge hop assault aroma; oranges, flowers, pine and grapefruit. Pretty decent malt presence but this one’s all about the hops. Malt and hops blended in an "Ike and Tina" way (Ike being the hops).
Very clean and surprisingly palatable.

Draft at the Bistro’s 7th DIPA Fest: Nose of ivy hops (very unusual) with a little citrus background (I had never seen this odor from hops until Odeed shared a Green Flash Imp IPA); hazy copper with a small off-white head; flavor was nice healthy amount of citrus and ivy hop bitterness, with a pleasant malt balance! One of the best IIPAs at the fest. I drank ALL of this one!!!
