Drakeís winter offering is a deep orange monster that is loosely filtered to keep the integrity of the malt & hops intact. Equal amounts of American two row and English pale are combined with two types of Munich malt, and balanced with Chinook, Cascade & Amarillo hops. Enjoy the massive aroma and flavor of this beer. Available January - March.

Editorís Note: Please observe the ABV and color of the label. This entry is for the 9.3% DIPA. Previous to 2016, the label had a white background. In 2016, the label is green.

Draft. Aroma of orangey chocolate. Nice lace. Flavors are more nectarine with a hint of cocoa powder, with a finish that seems to alternate between sweet candied orange peel and fast bitter... something I canít peg. Not showy, but nicely layered.

Pours a clear copper color with a grapefruit aroma. Taste is clean, good amount of hops. Slightly malty with good hidden alcohol content. A floral flavor especially in the aftertaste. Overall a decent beer for the style.

Bottle. Nice blend of citrus and pine hop aromas, a little dank and sweet, full body, dry and bitter across palate. Great double IPA thatís both full bodied and has a clean finish.

Bomber to pint glass. Large amount of citrus and moderate pine aroma. Clear golden-copper with off-white head. Flavor is balance of overt pine and citrus. Moderate high bitterness. Malt holds up well here as well.

"Drakeís was 3 for 3 on the day. Hopacalypse was orange and grapefruity sweetness and bitterness rolled into one nice package. an easy drinking feel, and another winner. had it FRESH in a bottle with a couple other DIPAs...clear winner. love the citra hops and rye malt mixed in there. up a tenth to a 4.3."

Pours dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramely malts, hops, citrus, grass and toffee. Taste is sweet, caramely malty and hoppy with some some sweet citrusy notes. Finish is sticky sweet, and a bit stuffy with some grass and citrus. Okay, a bit too sweet and malty for my taste.

Bottle. The look is decent off white head, peach skin colored. The smell is great, fruit, peachy, mango, really nice hop aromas. The taste is hoppy, fruits, nice bite but not harsh. Well brewed.
