3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 juiceisloose (1048) - Windermere, USA - MAY 8, 2011
Bomber from City Beer store. Pretty fresh bottle. This one pours a mostly clear, dark golden orange color and topped by a thick head of off white foam that slowly settles to a thin film. Thin, sticky rings of lace cling to the glass. The aroma is really nice showing orange citrus, bitter grapefruit, resinous pine, and some tropical fruit notes as well. The malt base is of toasted bread and caramel, but shows light to let the hops really shine through. The flavor follows with the orange, grapefruit, and tropical fruit notes up front followed by some peppery spice and resinous pine, but balanced nicely by the toasted bread and caramel malt base. The citrus and grassy hops are the main attraction here while the malt adds just a touch of sweetness without being cloying. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation that leads to a citrusy bitter finish. Not quite as a dry as some west coast ipa’s, but well balanced, easy drinking, and very tasty. This is a well done dipa. Good stuff.

Bomber in GV. Golden murky orange color with a big resiny nose chunking out citrus notes. Full DIPA flavors consisting of grapefruit, pine resin, and a loud but polite blast of hops from sweet to bitter. Long lasting bitter notes take you through and beyond the finish. Dank.

bottle. pours a murky orange. the aroma is actually phenomenal, unlike any ipa I have smelled before. It is just a great blend of hops I guess. The taste is great as well, even though I was skeptical after the first sip. The finish has a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Overall one of the best iipa’s I’ve had, up there with Hopslam.

660ml bottle.Citric fruit aromas, along with some hop resins. Pours gold to amber, some haziness. Develops regular white head, medium persistence but good lace. On mouth develops really high bitterness, with fruit flavor. Very long dry finish.
A really good IPA (or IIPA...)

Beautiful citrus aroma. First sip is a massive hop bomb that gives way to a malty backbone with plenty of hop character. Finish lingers for awhile with a little booze. Good stuff.

Outstanding nose of citrus & hops. Pours a rich golden orange with a nice creamy head. Fantastic DIPA flavor that lasts longer into the finish. One of my favorite DIPA’s of 2012.

Tap at Father’s Office - Santa Monica. Pours clear orange with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is fragrant citrus, floral and grapefruit hops with biscuit malt and tropical fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, malt backbone with fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body, warmth and carbonation.

Bomber, thanks Alex. Pours a hazed slightly orange honey gold with a uneven slightly off white head. Balanced nose is the first thing that strikes me. Light doughy malt, earthy pine resin, fuzzy ripe peach skin, a touch of brown sugar. Again, balanced in the flavor. Definitely pick up the english malts flavors...that rich full doughy flavor. Amarillo hops probably show the most flavor for me. Light fruitiness with a mellow lingering bitterness throughout.

Nice balance on the nose. Caramel, I guess it’s munich malt. Earthy hops, nice citrus, marmelade. Well put together. Definitely get the amarillo in the back end of it. Pours hazy orange, nice creamy white head. Flavors of marmelade, some light caramel notes, lots of peach, orange, grapefruit finishing it out. A touch of alcohol. Very smooth, definitely taste the english pale malts here and there. Very well put together. Extremely well balanced. I prefer a little less malt but really feel this is some good stuff. Fuck yeah.

Bottle courtesy of Wavers1. Pours a straw orange with minimal head. Aroma is oranges, peaches, light spruce, and grass. Taste is wonderfully cirtusy with light pine and a really great dry bitter finish that is smooth and inviting. Great beer.
