3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jredmond (4003) - Manhattan, New York, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Bottle via WIndy City Liquors, brought to Franks for his October 2012 tasting. Shared with Vin, Allan, Frank and Bill. Pours a hazy amber golden body with light white lacing. Aroma is fresh pine, grapefruit and light tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is refreshing, nicely balanced between bitter pine and fresh tropical fruit - clean hop finish. I would love to try this fresh on draft.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PhillyCraft (1964) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 26, 2012

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 lusikka (4039) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 15, 2012
355 ml bottle.
Pours a orange amber colour wih a large, firm white head. Aroma of rich piney hops, citrus and grass. Flavour of strong pungent piney hops, resin, mild sweet caramel and grass. Full bodied and a strong lingering bitter finish. Heavy hoppy fumes in my mouth. Yum yum yum.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ciaranc (365) - Dublin, IRELAND - OCT 5, 2012
Huge nose on this - moderate hops, pine, caramel, toffee, a hint of fruitcake, and distinct orange zest. Pours murky amber-orange, with a lively body sparkling with big bubbles, which soon settles down. Head is rocky and frothy, not too big, average lasting for the style and white to off-white. Light sweetness up front evolves into a moderate bitterness in the middle, with a sweet gooey, caramel centre. Its reasonably light bodied and its carbonation, while still soft, is a little livelier than other west coast IPAs. The bitterness continues to rise toward the long finish, which is moderately astringent. Decent.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Palme (2234) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 7, 2012
0.355l bottle @ CASK Pub & Kitchen, London. Finally! A long wanted whale for me this! When pouring it produces a massive and near everlasting light fluffy off-white head on top of a cloudy orange body packed with tons and tons of small grey particles. The aroma is as fruity as they come. Lot’s of fruity hops with citrus and clear tones of pine. It smells really nice, and it just get’s better and berry as it get’s some temperature. Yeah, this is in a other league when it comes of flavor. Fantastic hoppy and bitter - almost in the dipa-land at times. Lot’s of pine and citrus, strawberries and ripe peaches mixed with lemon, clementine zest, thin caramel and sweet apricots. My oh my this has lot’s of flavor! A really great IPA, probably the best I’ve had in i don’t know how long. 22.07.2012
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 BlackEyePA (547) - USA - AUG 29, 2012
Aroma is citrusy lemon/orange semi sweet fruit hops. Appearance is clean orange brew with a cream colored head. Taste is citrusy fig, grass hoppiness, with a good malty backbone to contend with the hop bill. Palate is covered in hop goo, but not lingering or overpowering. Overall great stuff
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 skmikeg (429) - Poway, California, USA - AUG 29, 2012
pours a hazy amber with a nice foamy off white head which lingers forever as very nice lacing. Aroma is of pine, orange jam, grapefruit, some caramel, and some general fruitiness. Taste is of pine, citrus fruits, some sweet malts, caramel malts, toffee, apricots, and some buttered popcorn. Has a medium body with creamy mouthfeel and a bitter, semi dry finish with some diacetyl in the finish. overall, a pretty good IPA that is more of a English IPA with a west coast twist and could use a little less diacetyl.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 flemmingwillum (811) - Nysted, DENMARK - AUG 10, 2012
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bytemesis (1407) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUN 28, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2012 Tap. Pours clear amber with a small off-white creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is of grapefruit and flowers, with a bit of malt and cat urine. Taste is grapefruit, floral, pine with a bitter finish. No sign of the ABV in the taste. Very creamy and full bodied in the mouth.
[tap at the Barrel House 09212012; inadvertantly rated again and gave it the same scores]

14th August 2010 Hazy amber beer. Good persistent creamy white head. Smooth palate, semi soft and semi dry. Lovely rich hops nose - marmalade grapefruit and orange. A little aniseed. Caramel creamy malt base. Finishes dry with a lingering hop bitter aftertaste. Very drinkable.
