Bottle. Bolime tasting. Hazy amber colour, almost no head. Aroma malts, bisquity, caramel, some nuts, assertively hoppy - which is quite interesting due to its age. Taste hoppy, malts, caramel, bisquity, alcohol. High bitterness, also in aftertaste. Good.

Flavor is mild sweet at the beginning, notes of caramel, ripe fruit, some plumbs. Mild bitterness in the final with a creamy and smooth mouthfeel on palate. Also some caramelish hints are present with the alcohol hidden by ripe fruits.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a 650ml bottle on 16/12/2015 (another early Xmas gift from my wondeful wife). Pours a cloudy light amber with a small head. Has a big malty nose, with heaps of caramel, toffee and butterscotch, with some piney hops in the background. This is a very flavoursome beast - sweet malt dominates, with caramel, toffee and honey, with some rye bread in there as well. This is countered by big resiny piney hops. While you can tell it’s a big beer, it’s still quite easy to drink. The texture is a bit syrupy with modest carbonation. This is a bold, complex, lovely and impressive barley wine.
