11/23/13. 22oz bottle. Amber brown pour with a nice khaki tan head that sticks. Malty aroma, some distinct fruitiness, dark fruits, brown sugar, burnt toffee and caramel. Nice flavor, mellow, good bitterness balances with dark sugars and fruits, toffee, and biscuity malt. Tasty.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"A very nice hop forward barlwywine that seems to change it stripes as it opens. Starts out with an aroma more akin to a IIPA than a BW. First sip gives you hints of honey and biscuit malt in addition to the hops. As it opens, it develops more malty sweetness in the aroma, and a distinct (and delicious) malt character very similar to my favorites from great Divide, Hibernation and Old Ruffian. Dangerously drinkable at 9.6%!"

Bottle. Clear amber color with ivory head. Big ganja bud, pine sap, floral, caramel aromas. Medium body with average co2. Sweet caramel, pale malt flavors with mild pit fruits, and pine, skanky hoppage--good.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Thanks Chris and Meredith! Bottle. The aroma escapes the instant I break the cap’s seal -- rich with warming sugar and a sense of home. It carries almost 2 feet from the goblet! The beer is deep brown, like stained oak furniture. The head is firm and stoic. The beer drinks with an amazing balance, rich with baked brown sugar and warming ethanol, laced with some pine and citric acidity. Remarkably easy to drink for its depth and strength. Amazing stuff. 3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some toffee and pine notes. The flavor is a mix of pine and orange from the hops as well as some caramel and toffee that help keep the bitterness down. I also get a bit of alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
75 cl bottle @ RIP camp, bottled 26.11.2012
Aroma is sweet with caramel, resiny malt and some berry tones. Flavour is heavy and fruity with malt, caramel, some resiny notes and some vanilla. Also some woody tones. Too sweet, but then again what else can an American BW be?
Once again the D and G were on top of each other and I never understood
