Draft @ Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. Pours a murky, dark chocolate-brown color; light-tan head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of fresh blueberries, dark fruit skins, and light toasty malts in the aroma; a nice fruit character. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of tart dark fruits (blueberries, blackberries), lightly toasty malts, plenty of chocolate and roast notes alongside a very solid fruit character; tasty beer. Medium finish: dark fruits, lightly tart, and lots of pleasant blueberry notes.

Pours almost black with a two finger thick dark tan head. Nose is vinous and a bit tart with chocolate as well. The flavor is also tart fruit like influences with some chocolate and port. Decent mouthfeel.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 marcus (5013) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 15, 2009
On tap at Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Pours dark brown with a massive tan head and a slightly sour roasted malt aroma. There is a lot of chocolate in the flavor complemented by a very noticeable sour fruit taste, the blueberries I presume. A very interesting and tasty combination.

Tap at the Bistro BA fest as KC Blueberry Stout aged 6 years in Port barrels - 9%. Pours dark reddish brown with a large foamy tan head. Strange sour aroma - must be weird blueberries (6 years old). Near medium body with smooth carbonation. Flavor is overaged/perhaps oxidized, but the oak makes up for it. And the berry is actually present. Really smooth, mildly sour, mildly oaky. Pretty good. Truly.
