On tap at the brewery. Pours with a black body and tan head that lasts. Aromas are big, spicy, red wine, pepper, chocolate, fudge, funk, ashy, vanilla and barrel notes. Flavors are sour, red wine, lots of rich caramelization, dark fruits, vanilla. Some funky brett notes. Light harsh edge to it with an acetic back end. Medium to light bubbles. Dryish. Lingering tobacco notes.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Wine and light chocolate aroma. Red wine and malt flavor with chocolate and a light sour note. Medium bodied. Red wine and light sourness lingers with malt and chocolate.

A - Served a dark black color with some hints of purple-red coming in around the edges. Finger of red-tinted chocolate colored head that faded slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma was dominated by strong sour Pinot Noir grapes. There was also a bit of roasted chocolate malts and some booze in the background as well.
T - Started off with a strong punch of sour Pinot Noir grapes with some acidity. Shortly after, the roasted chocolate malts started to come in a bit. Through the middle, the sourness mellows a bit and transitions to a bit of tartness. The roasted malt flavor also gets a bit stronger as well. The finish is big again on the sour grape, with some booze and roasted malt in the background.
M - Medium-full bodied with mild carbonation. Felt fairly smooth, even with all the sourness, with some acidity from the grapes.
D - Pretty drinkable. Not quite the most balanced barrel aged beer with the effect of the Pinot Noir barrels maybe coming through a bit too much. That being said, there was a lot to like and the Pinot Noir flavors did work fairly well with the base stout.
