UPDATED: AUG 6, 2009 This beer was practically orgasmic. On tap at Drake’s "Tasting". The manager at Drake’s told me that Roger used several different batch - end hops. The citrus, floral and grass hoppiness and caramel maltiness were in perfect balance. Color was mahogany with a fluffy cream colored head. The alcohol % was well hidden. Re-rate, opened a growler from Friday, it was even better than I remembered! One of the best beers I have ever had.

Courtesy aspidites. Dark amber/light brown, small tan cap. Definitely some age on this, more of a barleywine at this point. Hops are still prevalent though- citrus and tropical fruits, pine, floral/herbal, with balancing malt notes of caramel/toffee, toast, light cookie. Medium/full to full body, balanced. Would have loved to try this fresh. From notes.

Bottle shared with AlohaC at toncatcher’s tasting. Lots of citrus and pine characters, but all blended with lots of malty sweet yumminess. I liked this one. Very tasty.

Tasted from bottle at RBSG. Amber color. Bubble gum aroma. Sweetish. A bit of age on it I think. Pretty nice.

On tap at the Freakin Frog - they freaked me out when I ordered this and they said I kicked the tap and they ’might’ not have another keg. Poured a deeper amberish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of tropical fruits, pine, citrus, skunky weed, and caramel. Tastes of tropical fruits, ’husky’, caramel, citrus, and caramel, and pine. Alcohol content well hidden.

[Draft @ Freakin Frog] Poured a deep amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, caramel malts, citrus, resin, and light alcohol. Taste of sticky pine, resiny tobacco, caramel malts, citrus fruits, and light alcohol in the finish.

thanks to solan! Piney resin, some molasses, and some sweetness in the aroma. Pours a very dark amber. Piney upfront, with a great great bitterness, with some sweet malts hiding in there too. slightly old but still enjoyable!

Courtesy SoLan. 22oz handbottle. Pours a dark amber with little head. Big malt citrus pine aroma. Must have been very good and interesting, because my notes add that it had a "fuck socialists aroma". Whatever that means. Malty sweet hoppy over the top taste that finishes very clean. Solid.
