On tap. There was some confusion as to the labeling of this beer and the Chardi Trippel (possibly crossed lines). The notes for this one indicate red wine and the color fits (while the other beer was more golden in color and smelled like white wine). Pours with a hazy brown body with a minimal tan head that fades quickly. Aromas of red wine (pinot), cherry, vanilla, light nail polish, acetone, wood and dark fruits. Flavors are dry, sour, tons of vanillin, wood, acetic acid, wine, vinous. A bit candish at times. Floral. A bit thin, tannic and fruit finish. Dry with pretty low carbonation. Acidic and biting.

A: The pour is amber in color with a small off white head sitting on top. S: Ah, the typical aroma of a Drake’s sour: nail polish remover and white vinegar. Such mastery at work...At least there is a little bit to it other than that. I get some peaches and a mild maltiness. T: A mild malt sweetness on the flavor before the overpowering acetone, nail polish remover, and white vinegar smack you around. Hints of dark fruits, but the harsh flavors mentioned previously dominate. M: Medium in body and carbonation. O: I don’t know why I keep subjecting myself to this.
