On tap at Drakes. Time to un-retire this one. It pours a rather unclear dark brown color with a khaki head. The aroma has some nice coffee and roasted malt with a hint of caramel. The flavor is dry and toasty with some coffee and a nice toasted, chocolaty finish. Pretty dry yet full bodied. Very good.

marcus (6773) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 12, 2014
On tap at Drakes 25th Anniversary event. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head and a funky treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied chocolate and dark molasses flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish.

Probiere (992) - Iowa, USA - NOV 18, 2003
Great looking super black stout with a fine head. Too much anise, though, to the detriment of other flavors. Finish is roasty and burnt but clean. Not bad.

Tap. Roasted malts with a chocolate aroma. Bitter. Roasted aftertaste.

joet (2224) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - DEC 4, 2002
Tap - Barclays’ (College). Fruity esters, medium roast, dark black. A bit thin and sprity. Some light creaminess. Strong and solid flavors but lacking a chew or solid stout definition -- it’s in between an imperial and a sweet stout.
