Commercial Description:
A strong French style beer, it has a rich, bread and caramel flavor with moderate bitterness, and is amber in color. It means "beer for keeping," and is traditionally brewed in February and served during the summer

This was pretty boring and really reminded me of their Munich Dunkel. Very aniseedy smelling and exceedingly carbonated. Dark, poowater looking and not all that memorable honestly. G-rat

Tap at Texas Craft Brewers Festival ’04. I have very limited experience with the style, but I just dont think this one made the grade. I appreciate Draught House taking this on, but I thought it was a very mild beer without anything distinctive to it. It had some bitter maltiness, nothing sweet nor sour that got me going. Very boring.

Tap. Thickish caramel appearance. Decent maltiness, but I was expecting more of a sweet complexity that comes with others of the style.

Going to ignore the comment of another at Texas Craft Brewers Festival that was really just making noise. Thought this had some spice and character to it. Will have to head back to the pub and take some better notes, but all in all I thought a good job was done on it.
