Cloudy dark orange, filmy ring of a head patchy. Strong orange flavor, piny wood, dry hop finish. Palate is smooth but a bit too dry. fly (1334), austin, Tejas, USA

Excellent aroma and a flavor and body that stand up even after having a LH Widdershins. Job welll done. Need to get back and have some more.

Perfect amount of fruit in smell and flavor. Thick murky amber. Somewhat slow moving and stagnant on the palate but I don’t mind it at all. It is quite drinkable and enjoyable. Would love to have another! lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2007 Wow, I actually really loved this beer. Very nicely done.
Rich dark orangish honey colored pour with just a light short lived head. Smell is big big big and sweet citrusy grapefruit like hops. No soapy, cleaning product hop aroma like lots of IPAs seem to have. Taste is extremely balanced, not overly hopped, incredibly smooth and drinkable with a similar hop flavor to the smell and a nice mild sweetness to round it out. Same fruity quality to it I tend to get from their other beers, but in this one it really seems to add to the beer and fits perfectly. Huge hops aroma, yet a smooth milder hop flavor and bitterness makes this easily one of my favorite IPAs ever. A must try. churchill00 (154), Austin, Texas, USA

Nice fresh hop nose of grapefruit rind, pine, and hints of earth and sweet malt. Flavor is much of the same with a good hop bitterness throughout with just soft amounts of sweet malt. One sided towards hops, but fine by me. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, bitter finish. More D-IPA then IPA, but no matter. This was top notch stuff.... Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Billowy hop presence in the nose now. apricots, chamomile and a fruity bitterness that is compelling to say the least. Stil a beautiful viscous beer. Flavors are exquisite as well. Cracked rye and sweet biscuits, hop slash. Slight strange dusty grain taste on the backend but more dusty than anything else. Adds an interesting layer of flavors. Great beer.
Friends this was VERY dissapointing. I’ve been wanting to try this for a really long time now and it was really awfule. Poured into a weizen for thursday night half price house beer night. My favorite night. Deep rich gold, glass of shiny copper pennies. Nose is...weird. Floral, bitter and finally...dog vomit. Hmmm where did that come from. Let’s try this again. Move glass to nose. Ok...Hops (lots of them)mmm wait wait there it is wtf. Dog vomit. Why is dog vomit on the ingredient list. Maybe my nose is playing tricks. Let’s put it in my mouth. Glass to mouth and...Hoppy love and then...you guessed it. DOG VOMIT!!! Why would they use dog vomit to make abeer. That is innovative I guess. But it tastes like crap off the paper and in the glass. This was the first beer I ever took back from the Horse. It was a sad day.
